Very impressed.

Very impressed. One of the boxed shrubs arrived a little damaged but the plant was unharmed. I was first impressed by the forethought that went into the packaging. Second, the plants exceeded my expectations inquality, size and condition. Put them in the ground today and they look wonderful. Will be buying from you again.

Hi Randall, Thank you for your glowing review and for sharing some pictures of your Scarlet Quinces - those look amazing in your landscape! We certainly put care into shipping plants to ensure they arrive safe & sound to our customer's doorsteps - while we are sorry to hear one box got beat up a bit during shipping, we are happy to hear that the plant inside was still in good shape! The Double Scarlett Quince is

The Double Scarlett Quince is a bit leggy, as Fall approaches. Looking forward to seeing it fill out this Spring.

Hi Tina,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the Double Scarlett Quince. We appreciate your observations about it being a bit leggy as fall nears—that’s a common trait for some shrubs as they prepare for the colder months. In spring, it should definitely put on fuller, bushier growth and bring vibrant color to your garden.

To help encourage a more compact, lush shape, you might consider pruning it lightly during late winter or early spring before new growth begins. If you need detailed care tips or a pruning guide, feel free to reach out or check out our blog for seasonal advice tailored to quince varieties.

We’re excited to see your Quince thrive and fill out as the seasons turn!

Excellent addition to a garden with proper care

Plant in a sunny area. Smart choice for zones 8 and 9. Heat and cold tolerant. Spray the plant with a copper fungicide to prevent black spot fungal disease and fertilize with organic Citrus-tone. Purchase quince from Nature Hills. Quince purchased from other nurseries may arrive with black spots and grow erratically.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is its mature size?

  • Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince reaches 4 to 5 feet tall and wide at maturity. This fast-growing shrub develops a naturally rounded habit that fits well in foundation plantings or mixed borders. Plan for adequate spacing since it will fill out to its full 5-foot spread within a few seasons.

How often does it need watering?

  • Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince becomes drought tolerant after its first growing season and needs minimal watering once established. Water regularly the first year to establish roots, then only during extended dry spells. Shop this low-maintenance shrub at Nature Hills for zones 5-9.

What planting zones is Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince hardy in?

  • Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince is hardy in USDA zones 5 through 9. The flower buds are extremely cold-hardy and will produce reliable blooms even after harsh winters. Plant in full sun for best flower production.

Is Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince a fast or slow growing shrub?

  • Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince is a fast-growing shrub that reaches 4 to 5 feet tall and wide at maturity. This vigorous grower quickly establishes itself and becomes drought tolerant after its first full growing season. Plant it in full sun for best growth and most abundant blooms.

Is Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince deer resistant?

  • Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince is moderately deer resistant, though hungry deer may browse it during harsh winters. The thornless branches make it more vulnerable than spiny quince varieties. Plant it closer to the house or combine with strongly deer-repellent plants for best results.

Can you ship Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince to my location during winter months?

  • Double Take Peach™ Flowering Quince can be shipped during winter since it's cold-hardy in zones 5-9. Winter shipping actually works well for bare-root shrubs as they're dormant. Check your specific zip code for shipping restrictions during your area's coldest months.
