Beautiful

Beautiful colors, nice size plants, doing well since being planted. One arrived damaged and customer service immediately sent me another one, easy, peasy.

Wildfire Sedum does put on a real show with that foliage color, and it sounds like yours are settling in well. Glad the customer service team got that damaged one sorted out quickly for you, Sue. Thanks for planting with us!

Strong survivor

I loved how this looked in the catalog picture so ordered it. I have an area of my front yard where nothing will grow or thrive. This is where I planted my SunSparkler, about a month or so ago. So far it is doing well, despite our 100 degree temperatures we were having at the time of planting. I made sure I kept it well watered and it is still thriving now. I will give it another 4-6 weeks to make sure it is going to survive and then order more for the fall planting.

Sedums are tough, but planting through 100-degree heat is a real test, and it sounds like yours passed with flying colors. Keeping it well watered through that establishment period was the right call, and once the roots settle in you will find it needs very little from you going forward. That spot that nothing else will grow in is exactly where this plant tends to shine. We hope the fall planting fills it in just the way you are picturing, Denise.

Looking pretty good

Looking pretty good. Should had boughta couple more.

Wildfire is one of those sedums that makes you wish you had ordered more from the start. The good news is it divides well once established, so you may be able to expand your planting over time without a second order. Thanks for sharing, Suzanne. The Nature Hills Team

Frequently Asked Questions

What USDA hardiness zones is SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum suitable for?

  • SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum thrives in USDA hardiness zones 4 to 9. This cold hardy sedum tolerates both heat and freezing temperatures, remaining evergreen in the warmer portions of its range. Plant it confidently in most temperate climates for year-round foliage interest.

What is the mature height and width of SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum?

  • SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum forms tight, compact cushions reaching 2-3 inches tall and spreading 6-8 inches wide. This miniature version stays much smaller than the original Angelina variety. Perfect for edging walkways or tucking into rock gardens where space is limited.

Can SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum handle full hot afternoon sun (105°F or more)?

  • Yes, this heat-tolerant sedum thrives in full sun and can handle extreme heat in zones 4-9. The intense afternoon sun actually enhances its bold yellow foliage color. Provide occasional water during prolonged 105°F+ periods for best performance.

Is SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum drought tolerant once established?

  • Yes, this sedum is extremely drought tolerant once established, as sedums are succulent plants that store water in their fleshy leaves. Being described as "tough as nails" and nearly maintenance-free, it thrives in zones 4-9 with minimal water. Plant in well-draining soil and water sparingly after the first growing season.

What is the best time to prune SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum?

  • SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum requires minimal pruning due to its naturally compact growth habit. Simply trim back any damaged or overgrown sections in early spring before new growth begins. This low-maintenance groundcover is available at naturehills.com.

What are the shipping options and plant sizes available for SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum (e.g., trays or individual pots)?

  • SunSparkler® Angelina's Teacup Sedum is typically available in individual 2.5" pots for spring through fall shipping. This compact groundcover ships best during cooler months to ensure the succulent foliage arrives in peak condition. Order early in the season for best selection and optimal planting timing in zones 4-9.
