These fruits are very astringent for humans to eat, but birds snap them up readily!

Cherry Laurels thrive in slightly deep, fertile, moist, humusy soil, yet tolerate poor, sandy, or clay soils. Water deeply, and regularly in the first growing season to establish the root system, but once established, reduce watering frequency. Established plants can tolerate dry shade.
