Blaauw thrives in full sun or partial shade with at least four hours of sunlight a day. It's blissfully "un-picky" about soil type or soil pH, as long as it is well-drained! Water consistently during the first season to get the plants established, and then only in extended dry weather. If you have cold winters, plan to water deeply in late fall. This provides an easy way to protect the evergreen branches from winter damage. Prune in early spring to correct shape, if needed. Cut any long, wayward branches back into the canopy by six inches or so for the most natural look.
