One of the finest reds

This is such an excellent rose. The flowers have perfect shape, and they are round and full even when they have fully opened, so they look great on the plant for a long time. It grows lots of big, thick new canes every year, so they hold up well in the wind. It is one of the taller hybrid teas that I have, and you really have to cut some of the flowers to keep it to a manageable size. It has multiple flushes of blooms each year, and the plant is just covered in blooms. It is quite striking. The single (no side buds that need removal if you are going to cut them) flowers are borne upon tall, thick stems, which makes them excellent for cutting, and the flowers last exceptionally long n the vase. In Texas where our winters are very mild, this rose never quits. I've often had blooms on this plant well into January, or even February. I've never had any disease problems with this one, although I have a strict treatment regimen, so I rarely have problems with any of my roses, so I can't say how naturally disease resistant it is. If you are only going to have one red hybrid tea in your garden, this is the one you should have.

Dear Jeff,

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughtful and detailed review! It’s wonderful to hear how much joy this red hybrid tea rose brings you, especially with its striking blooms lasting well into the cooler months in Texas. Your description of the rose’s perfect shape, sturdy canes, and prolific flowering really paints a vivid picture—and it’s clear you’ve put a lot of care and attention into maintaining it. Your notes on bloom longevity and cutting convenience will surely be invaluable for other growers considering this rose.

We really appreciate your diligence with a treatment regimen; having a disease-free and thriving plant is definitely rewarding. For fellow gardeners aiming to get similar lasting blooms and strong growth, maintaining your regular watering schedule alongside occasional feeding with a balanced rose fertilizer will help keep those canes big and healthy.
