BEAUTIFUL LITTLE BUSHES AND VERY HEALTHY.

ARRIVED HEALTHY AND ARE TAKING ROOT ALREADY IN THE SHORT TIME THEY'VE BEEN IN THE GROUND WITH ONE IN OUR FRONT YARD AND THE OTHER IN THE BACKYARD. ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF GREAT PLANTS FROM A GREAT NURSERY!

Potentillas are tough little plants, and it sounds like yours wasted no time settling in. Having one up front and one in the back means you will get to watch them fill out from two different spots, which is a nice way to enjoy the season. We appreciate the kind words, Alan, and hope both shrubs reward you with plenty of blooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Goldfinger Potentilla considered a fast-growing or slow-growing shrub?

  • Goldfinger Potentilla is a moderate grower, reaching its mature size of 3-4 feet in height and width within a few seasons. This steady growth rate makes it reliable for planning landscape designs. Expect consistent annual growth rather than rapid expansion in zones 2-7.

Is Goldfinger Potentilla deer resistant?

  • Yes, Goldfinger Potentilla is deer resistant and blooms from summer into late fall. This hardy shrub thrives in zones 2-7 and works perfectly in areas where deer browsing is a concern. Plant it as a foundation shrub or low hedge for reliable color without deer damage.

Does Goldfinger Potentilla require regular pruning and when should it be done?

  • Goldfinger Potentilla has a naturally neat growth habit that requires minimal pruning. This hardy shrub maintains its compact 3-4 foot rounded form with little intervention. Light pruning in late winter or early spring will help maintain shape and encourage fresh growth for the upcoming bloom season.

Is Goldfinger Potentilla drought tolerant once established?

  • Goldfinger Potentilla typically reaches its mature 3-4 foot size in 3-4 years with proper care. This hardy shrub grows at a moderate pace in zones 2-7, establishing quickly once planted. For best results, shop quality plants at naturehills.com.
