Look out, because Evergreens just got a makeover! Yes, the classic dark forest green of pine trees is lovely - but if you're looking for a bright pop of color that lasts all year long, then Forever Goldy® Arborvitae PP #19267 (Thuja plicata '4EVER') is exactly what you need!
Not convinced? Well, we have a list of attributes for you!
Imagine this, a landscape blanketed with beautiful white snow, speckled with dark green pines and spruce. A beautiful sight for sure but what if there were splashes of gold among them, in the middle of winter! That's exactly what Forever Goldy® Arborvitae offers with its mesmerizing golden-green needles. Never again will you have a strictly two-toned garden during the colder months!
A Southern Living® plant collection member, Forever Goldy® Arborvitae has a pleasing pyramidal shape that looks quite a bit like a Christmas tree draped in gold! Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 5-8, these bright shrubby trees grow just 12 - 18 feet tall and 3 - 5 feet wide, making them adaptable, versatile, and space-saving!
Landscape Application:
As a slower-growing narrow Arborvitae tree, Forever Goldy® Arborvitae makes a handsome hedge for the edge of your yards or as a beautiful backdrop to your perennial gardens. Plus, since it's a smaller tree, it'll work perfectly in small gardens and landscapes!
Forever Goldy® adds a year-round ever'green' accent to waterwise, full sun landscapes and decorative containers! That means modern urban lots and smaller courtyard gardens, balconies, porches, patios, and container gardens can all enjoy the gilded color that lights up every sunny situation!
When you can go big, Forever Goldy® is ready to show off big time! Create groupings and hedges that turn heads, as the bright color lights up the landscape! In existing privacy hedges and mixed shrub borders, Forever Goldy® adds that pop of color to the usual dark green evergreenery. Light up a landscaping bed with a lush backdrop of these narrow-growing plants that seem to set off everything else planted before them.
- Gorgeous Yellow-Green Needles
- Narrow-Growing Pyramidal Shape
- Perfect For Year-Round Interest
- Works Well In Small Space Gardens & Containers
- Gorgeous Hedges, Groupings & Specimen Plants
#ProPlantTips for Care:
The best place to plant a Forever Goldy® Thuja is somewhere it can have lots of sun with some afternoon shade. As far as soil goes, this golden delight isn't picky at all, simply make sure it is well-drained and you won't have to worry one bit! Provide regular water for new plants but once established, this Arborvitae becomes very drought tolerant and xeric. Provide a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the roots. Prune or shear after the first flush of growth in the spring if needed, but these slower-growing evergreens won’t need much in the way of maintenance.
- Full Sun Plants
- Need Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
- Prune If Needed In Spring
- Heat, Cold & Drought Tolerant
Gold is the new green as far as gardens go! No more must we stick to the same old evergreen colors if we want winter interest. Forever Goldy® Arborvitae is here to accent the dark green with golden yellow-green to create a breathtaking landscape no matter the season. Order one, or a few, for your yard today!
