#ProPlantTips for Care:
Lilium asiatica hybrid bulbs grow best in the full sun, preferring morning sun and requiring a touch of afternoon part shade in the hotter climates. Allow at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day for optimum results.
Plant Lily bulbs up to 8 inches deep in well-draining but moist soil with average fertility. Not particular on soil type, any well-drained medium that has a good amount of humus and organic material added will help hold the moisture that these bulbs enjoy.
Water well while plants are young and consistently during the heat of summer to have the best blooms and the longest bloom time. Once established, they will only need supplemental watering throughout the summer's heat and in times of prolonged drought.
Apply a deep layer of mulch over the soil's surface to ensure moisture consistency and to also insulate the root system from both heat and cold. In some locations, you will need to stake your Lily stems to help them not get blown over when in full bloom or in windy locations.
Deadhead as soon as the flowers have faded, but keep your foliage until after frost to make food for the bulb, then cut back in autumn. Otherwise, these are a carefree and easy-to-grow species of Lily! Every 3-5 years, you can divide the bulb clumps and spread the joy throughout your landscape.
- Full Sun Is Best (Afternoon Shade In Hot Climates)
- Well-Drained Moderately Moist Soil
- Perennial Bulb
- Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune Back After Frost
- Plant In Spring 8-Inches Deep 5-10 Inches Apart
