A gorgeous southeast native that strikes all the right notes!

Blue is just one of those colors that speaks to nearly everybody. In all of our years of helping people plan pretty gardens, we almost never hear anyone say – “But no blue flowers!” We often hear no yellows, or oranges or whites, but blue? People always want more of it.

We’re here to help you get more of it.

Blue Note Blue Eyed Grass (Sisyrinchium angustifolium) is a wildflower that you’ve probably seen in fields on the side of the road as you’ve taken road-trips through the Southeast states. It is a native there and even though it looks delicate it is tough and hardy.

It looks like a grass, but it is actually from the iris family. Its leaves grow in grass-like clusters that form sweet little mounds that spread easily. Then for a few weeks each spring dainty violet-blue to sky-blue colored flowers cover it. This is an herbaceous perennial, which means it dies to the ground each fall, but quickly pops up again in the spring.

Enjoy this little beauty in rock gardens, by pond edges or in naturalized garden borders. In our opinion, you can never have too much blue in your garden – especially a blue as vivid and wonderful as this. Buy your Blue Note Blue Eyed Grass from us today!

* Herbaceous perennial
* Hardy Southeast native
* Perfect blue flowers in spring
