A candy-striped Decorative ornamental Dahlia, the Short Track Dahlia (Dahlia 'Short Track') brings their varied red and white beauty to your garden with ease! Highly floriferous, each red and white striped and streaked petal is different from one bloom to the next!

Multiple buds open gradually throughout the summer and autumn months to give you and your pollinators plenty of flowers to enjoy! Standing a diminutive 12-18 inches tall and spreading about the same, these dwarf Dahlias pack all the punch into their blooms as their 4-5 foot tall cousins!

Short Track Dahlia is every bit as easy to grow in all USDA growing zones! Filling out in mounds of lush green glossy leaves on strong sturdy stems that are perfect for snipping and adding to bouquets and floral arrangements!

Landscape Application:

Short Track Dahlia's smaller size means space-saving color and easy-to-include beauty to your smaller urban courtyards, mixed perennial gardens, and cottage borders where a massive Dahlia would just overtake everything else with its size! Sweet and petite, use this dwarf Dahlia as front-of-the-garden borders, edging, and accents!

You don't even need a yard to enjoy the Short Track Dahlia! Pot yours up as a thriller in a container garden, or as a filler among mixed planter gardens! No matter what growing zone you are in, you can use Dahlia as seasonal accents and annual thrillers on your porches and patios in the sun!

  • Pure White & Red Blooms - Every Flower Is A Bit Different!
  • Dwarf Sized Decorative Dahlia
  • Lush Green Leaves & Stems
  • Long-Lasting - Flowers Summer Til Fall

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant Dahlia tubers in full sun for the best growth and the most blooms! The morning sun is best due to its drying power to clear the leaves of dew. Delicate Dahlia foliage also appreciates afternoon shade in hot climates and everywhere they love good air circulation! The key to successfully growing Dahlias is well-enriched soil with regular fertilizer. It is recommended that you add 3-4 inches of arborist bark mulch for consistent soil moisture and protect the roots.

Even though they are often referred to as 'bulbs' the roots of the Dahlia are tubers like potatoes and sprout from the 'eyes'. Plant Dahlia tubers between 10-12 inches deep in loosened, enriched soil. These modified roots need to be planted in very well-drained soil that won't become soggy. Tubers planted directly in the ground will start to sprout in about 3 weeks depending on your climate and weather.

Deadhead regularly for continuous rebloom and trim back yellowed foliage in the fall. Dig up the tubers for the winter. Store these bulbs in a cool, dark place for the winter.

Forming from bulb-like tubers, these perennials need protection from freezing temperatures. While Dahlia can be planted in all growing zones, climates with cold winters need to "lift" the tubers in the fall before the ground freezes and stored for the winter. In frost-free winters, Dahlia can be kept in-ground all year round!

  • Full Sun & Partial/Afternoon Shade In Hot Climates
  • Well-Drained Enriched Soil
  • Tolerates Moderate to Moist Locations
  • Prune After Foliage Yellows & Lift Tubers In Fall
  • Quality Tubers With Multiple Eyes Each
