For those who love the Japanese Cedar Tree, but don't have room for its huge stature, this First Editions® Japanese Cedar offers those desired features but in a more diminutive form! Chapel View™ Japanese Cedar (Cryptomeria japonica 'PIICJ-I') also improves upon the traditional Japanese Cedar in other ways.

Your First Editions® Chapel View Japanese Cedar is a dwarf, evergreen tree with an upright form and compact nature that grows naturally beautiful. While some evergreen cultivars acquire reddish-bronze needles for winter, Chapel View™ retains its vibrant, emerald-green coloring, with just a hint of blue shading, and lasts all year round!

The brown cones that sometimes appear on Cedars haven't been seen on the Chapel View™ variety, yet another improvement over its larger relative. All in all, this lovely Dwarf Cedar will provide you with a beautiful, raindrop-shaped tree with lovely, upswept branches!

Landscape Application:

Plant a single specimen as a gorgeous, year-round accent in your front yard, or several in a side yard to ensure both beauty and privacy! The fluffy blue-green color brightens the usual greenery of most shrubs and trees, enhancing all other plants with their lush color.

The smaller 5 - 10 feet in height yet spreads 4 - 8 feet in width at the base, making Chapel View™ ideal as a hedge that won't take up tons of space while adding privacy and property definition that stands out without looking too stuffy or formal. Bulk up a mixed shrub border or brighten your home's foundation plantings where Chapel View™ will easily soften the corners.

Even large planters can hold these smaller evergreens for balcony and porch gardeners! Dress yours up for the holidays or to coordinate with the seasons. Add some casters to your planter and enjoy moving shade and privacy around your seating areas and back deck!

  • Lush Bright Blue-Green Foliage
  • Dwarf Compact Upright Evergreen
  • Year-Round Interest
  • Maintains Color In Sun & Shade
  • Smaller Hedges, Privacy, Large Planters & Specimens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

This Dwarf Japanese Cedar does well in both full sun and part shade and is both disease and pest-resistant. Any moderately moist well-drained soil location that has a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the root zone. Prune only if there is winter dieback or you have broken branches in the late winter.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Moisture
  • Prune If Needed In Late Winter
  • Disease & Pest Resistant

First Editions® Chapel View™ is a Japanese Cedar variety with a great deal to offer! It combines all the incredible value of a traditional evergreen, with additional improvements, and on a much smaller scale. Try one today from NatureHills.com!

Love my little trees

Every day I go out into my front yard and admire my little Chapel View Japanese Cedars. One of the best purchases ever. I would like to but two more. I am waiting for the triple digits to pass in the Central San Joaquin Valley in California. They are my perfect little trees. I water them daily. They are thriving.

We’re delighted to hear they bring such joy every day—and that they’re thriving with your attentive care in the Central San Joaquin Valley’s hot conditions. Waiting until the triple-digit heat lessens is a smart move to ensure your new additions get off to a great start. When you’re ready, planting a bit of organic mulch around the base can help retain moisture and moderate soil temperature, especially during warm spells.
