The giant yellow petals of the Yellow King Humbert Canna Lily (Canna x generalis 'Yellow King Humbert') are accented by gorgeous green paddle-like foliage that is often variegated with purple markings and the tall stems hold these flouncy blooms aloft for bees and butterflies!

Yellow King Humbert has been a garden favorite for almost 125 years and its long summer-to-fall bloom time brings weeks of enjoyment to your sunny beds and borders, and in sun-drenched containers.

Canna Lilies are fantastic summer-blooming exotic perennials with rhizomes that thrive all year in frost-free growing zones of 9 and up. But all growing zones can enjoy these plants as seasonal summer accents, or annuals. Keep them for next year by digging up and storing the bulbs as one would Dahlia and Elephant Ears for the winter!

Planting and Application:

Maximize the bright color and exotic flair of your Canna by planting them in groupings or in rows! Go big by planting Canna en masse in drifts for a bright pop of juicy color all growing season long! Try mixing with Red King Humbert or other Canna for a vivid display!

Pot up Yellow King Humbert in porch and patio planters as the main feature, surrounded by spillers or low fillers for a focal point. Or you can add them as the filler and accent to other exotic foliage and flowering plants on a sunny porch, patio, or balcony!

Yellow King Humbert Canna Lily is a fantastic sunny color for the front garden beds and foundation border, or even at the end of your driveway - we're sure no one will miss the turn into your house again! These space-saving accents even look great for pathway and garden edging, on berms around your poolside plantings, and seating areas!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Keep these full-sun plants in moderately moist to almost wet enriched soil, that is always well-drained so they do not rot. It is also a good idea to ensure that Canna has a 3-4-inch layer of arborist mulch over the surface, especially in drier, hotter areas. Provide regular fertilizer and deadhead when blooming is done. Canna are spring-planted summer-flowering rhizomes and are not frost-hardy, so they do need to be dug in the fall before they freeze. Keep them in a cool, dark, frost-free area in a bag in a garage or shed.
