Coral bowls filled in gold, the Oslo Peony (Peonia 'Oslo') is a perfect container-ready, flowering ornamental for smaller landscapes - even if you don't have a yard! Easy to grow and smaller in stature, you will still enjoy all the well-known Peony fragrance, long-lasting spring flower power, or that vivid color that Peonies are known for! This single row of generous petals are cupped and seem to protect the pompom of golden anthers that are dolloped into the centers of each bloom!

The Oslo Peonies' silky petals are a favorite for the bees and butterflies that will love exploring these gorgeous flowers! Standing in dense clumps of lush greenery on sturdy yet shorter stems, Oslo is sure to supply you will plenty of cut flowers for bouquets! The coral-salmon hue doesn't fade in the sun or heat, nor do these blooms balk at the cold!

Growing just 24 inches tall and about as wide at maturity, these Peonies grow fast and bloom after a year or two in the ground (or pot rather!). Wonderfully cold-hardy and durable throughout USDA growing zones 3 through 8, these flowering rhizomes have thick, fleshy roots with several 'eyes' each.

Planting and Application:

Bred especially for container gardening culture, these gleaming flowers have the same incredible scent as their larger cousins and are equally as long-lived! Keep these flowering ornamentals in a fancy terra cotta pot by your garden bench, dress up a sunny front door with Oslo Peony in a fancy urn, or add cheer to mixed planters! No yard or garden is no problem! Rooftop and balcony gardens gain bright blooms and butterflies too!

If you do have a yard, then you won't sacrifice space planting groupings, rows, or specimen plantings of these space-saving perennials that rival any flowering shrub in your landscape! After the flowers fade, the clumps of glossy lobed foliage provide a lush green backdrop for later emerging flowers! These fragrant blooms are perfect additions to cut-flower gardens and pollinator, perennial borders, and in cottage gardens!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

This hardy perennial grows from tough rhizomes and is well-known as a long-lived plant! Provide a full sun location with well-drained soil, that also has good air circulation. Provide regular yet moderate moisture while first establishing, but then, these rhizomes are drought tolerant. Deadhead after bloom and cut the foliage down after it yellows. Ensure containers have ample drainage and winter protection from the worst of the winter's chills.

Information About Bareroot Peonies

Bareroot Peonies are shipped as nice, 3-5 eye bareroot divisions. Their woody roots are not uniform, it is normal for each root to look slightly different.

Nature Hills Nursery ships bare-root Peonies in the fall according to your growing zone to ensure they will remain dormant all winter until emerging in spring.
