Lush-streaked ombre blooms, Purple Rain Amaryllis (Amaryllis 'Purple Rain') features plummy rose top petals streaked in darker violet with pale light pink lower petals. Each big trumpet-shaped bloom has vivid pink stamen with pale green centers! In many lighting settings, the petals look more rosy pinkish red!

These extraordinary blooms stand tall atop sturdy stems and the multiple buds give you a long-lasting display indoors or out! Incredibly easy to grow indoors as forced bulbs. You'll love these living holiday or winter décor that ring in the holidays!

Purple Rain Amaryllis are fantastic gift items, but can also be planted outside in USDA growing zones 9 to 10, and in cooler climates can plant Purple Rain bulbs outside or in planters, but they will need to be dug up before frost, and stored in a cool dark location for the winter as you would with Dahlia and Canna Lily.

Planting and Application:

These are beautiful gift items with breathtaking colors and sheer size! Add to planters and pots or a special urn to showcase these blossoms. Add dramatic specimens to your table displays and holiday pots for eye-catching displays! Pot up in a fancy urn or a special vase just for forcing Amaryllis bulbs and creating a spectacle of bold scarlet hues.

Purple Rain Amaryllis has upright growth, forming compact mounds of greenery that look great for the rest of the growing season. Then once they die back can be stored in a cool dark place, or just use as an annual accent. Plant outdoors in frost-free growing zones of 9 and up and look amazing in mixed or specimen plantings on your container gardens, on a sunny porch or patio! Create groupings and rows in the landscape for a grand early spring or summer pop of color that pollinators adore!

  • Plummy Rose Pink Blooms With Light Pink Lower Petals
  • Long-Lasting & Multiple Buds Per Stem
  • Tall Clumps of Strappy Green Leaves
  • Tropical Perennial Bulbs
  • Force For Winter Décor, Gift Plant & Containers

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Preferring full sun outdoors and bright indirect sun indoors, Amaryllis bulbs should be planted in enriched, well-drained soil, pointed end up, with the neck and top third of the bulb above the soil. Then water moderately and mulch well. Disliking soggy soil, water sparingly to ensure the bulb has just enough moisture to grow. Amaryllis should be dead-headed as soon as the blooms fade, but the foliage looks handsome all growing season! Keep the handsome foliage intact and place them in a bright sunny window to make food for the bulb.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Moderately Moist Well-Drained Organic Soil
  • Deadhead After Bloom & Clean Mound When Leaves Yellow
  • Appreciates Mulched Beds Outdoors
  • Dislikes Soggy Soil

Purple Rain Amaryllis adds its unique charm and beauty to your holiday indoor décor or garden containers! Order yours at Nature Hills and we'll ship your quality bulbs to your doorstep at the proper planting time for your growing zone!
