Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 10-11 or as an indoor plant
The Sansevieria Mother-In-Law's Tongue, also known as a Snake Plant (Sansevieria zeylanica) is a fantastic tropical focal point that requires minimal care and adds vertical texture to your home and frost-free garden areas! The tall blades of stiff leathery foliage blades feature broad bands of gray-green and skinny bands of deep green. All streaking horizontally across each blade.
Sansevieria forms stiff rosettes of pointed, upright growing blades with new leaves forming from the center and outsides of each clump, these form slowly-expanding bunches of vertical easy-care texture and form. The leathery leaves are difficult to break or bruise, so they’re great plants for high-traffic areas and locations with kids and pets that are less than careful around plants.
As your plants grow, you'll be excited to see 'pups' or 'daughter plants' popping up as they grow from the roots and grow alongside the mother plant! Native to hot and tropical West Africa and India, they are very forgiving houseplants and seasonal patio décor! Snake Plants thrive outside in USDA growing zones 10 and 11.
Planting and Application:
Add formal upright texture to borders and along paths and walkways. A low hedge of these fantastic plants adds a unique form to the garden as punctuation marks! Pot up in tall, slender planters for decorating your front door and dotted evenly around a seating area. Northern growers can bring these porch and patio summer accents indoors for the winter.
Very easy to care for any bright location indoors in a pot with very good drainage and room to grow. These are incredible plants for the office, dressing up a lobby or waiting area without worrying if these plants will become damaged or get in the way. The vertical growth is space-saving and won't get in the way of foot traffic. Include potted Sansevieria to a sunny enclosed porch and sunroom, bright window and perfect for small homes and spaces.
- Thick Gray-Green & Dark Green Banded Leaves
- Leathery Sword-Like Upright Foliage
- Vertical Growth & Dense Rosettes
- Indoors Container & Office Plants
- Frost-Free Outdoor Zones Landscape Accent & Patio Plant
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Snake Plants do best in full sun and can tolerate partial shade, but you'll see a bit less of that dramatic color in less than 6 hours of sun. Indoor plants like bright, indirect sunlight. Low moisture to average moisture, these tropical plants actually despise soggy soil and poor drainage, so provide well-drained soil. The Sansevierias' toughness and adaptability make them fantastic for forgetful gardeners and busy folks and won't mind if you skip a watering here and there. Trim foliage as needed, remove old leaves and divide or repot once these plants become crowded.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Low Moisture Once Established
- Requires Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Fertility & Very Low Maintenance
- Prune & Trim Foliage As Needed
The Sansevieria Mother-In-Law's Tongue is the exclamation mark of color and texture for your garden landscapes and home interiorscapes alike! Hurry and order your own standout tropical plants delivered directly from NatureHills.com!
