#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant Chicago Peace® Hybrid Tea Rose in full sun. It needs at least six hours of direct sunlight but can handle much more. Well-drained soil, good air circulation, and proper site selection are a must, as Rose roots don't tolerate standing water. Bring in more soil to create a planting mound to improve drainage after rain or watering.
Dig your planting hole twice as wide as the roots, but no deeper. Keep the soil level the same as we have grown in at the nursery and in its pot. Roses need a consistent schedule of watering. Apply an insulating 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch over the root zone, then pull it back away from the canes. In zones 7 and below, Hybrid Tea Roses should be mounded with 8-12 inches of mulch in late fall after the frost killed the leaves for best overwintering.
Don't forget the Nature Hills Root Booster at the time of planting, to give this fragrant Rose life-long support! Feed your Roses specialty Rose fertilizer according to the label directions. Usually, people plan to feed their Roses several times through the growing season.
Bag and remove all leaf litter in fall. In early spring, prune each of the Rose canes down to 6 - 8 inches at a 45-degree angle just above a nice, fat bud. Read all you need about Rose pruning Here, and about winterizing Roses, and un-wintering Roses in spring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!
