To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Buying Options for Plants
Nature Hills sells a large variety of plants with several options available. Plants are offered in both potted containers and as dormant bare root without soil. Here is a helpful resource to understand your options as you create a beautiful landscape with help from Nature Hills.
Ever wonder what a larger plant will mean for your landscape? Container Sizes are really all about the age of the plant!
Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.
- Popular sizes of select trees are 1 foot, 2 feet, 3 feet, etc.
- Popular sizes of select bare root plants is 1 foot, 18 inches, etc.

A Big Plant For BIG Impact! This is one big boy! Putting on a full foot in the spring each year, the Oak Leaf™ Red Holly (Ilex x 'Conaf') quickly grows to its mature height and width! This is a large broadleaf evergreen with handsome, glossy foliage with pokey spiny-edged leaves that are surefire deterrents!
Oak Leaf™ is the premier Red Holly with charming leaves shaped like - you guessed it - Oak leaves! You might be surprised to know that, unlike many other Hollies, the new leaves that pop out in the spring start out bronze or even burgundy-colored! They stay this beautiful hue for a couple of weeks before they mature into that deep classic Holly green.
One of the best features of the Oak Leaf™ Holly, though, is that it doesn't require another Holly to pollinate, so you can be sure that you will get masses of bright orange-red berries all fall and winter that birds love and you'll find looks fantastic in winter décor and winter interest.
Planting and Application:
Do you need a huge hedge to keep unwanted people and animals out (or in!)? Several of these big broadleaf evergreens make a massive, spiky shielding hedge! Not only will birds and wildlife move right into the wonderful protective shelterbelt you've created, but those nosy neighbors, the unsightly trash cans, and the HVAC unit, or create private outdoor rooms around your private seating and reading nook!
Even though these giants are a little too big for most foundation plantings if left to their own devices, they take a shearing like a champ and can be kept at whatever size you'd like. Any location that is well-drained and has moderate, consistent moisture is just fine for these tough Oak Leaf™ Red Hollies! Prune if desired in late winter or very early spring.
