Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Get an exotic look with this beautiful native fruit tree! You probably have never seen a Magic Fountain™ Weeping Persimmon (Diospyros virginiana 'JN5'), but you might want to put one or two of these native Persimmon in your cart today!
In the spring you will enjoy the creamy white to light yellow bell-shaped blossoms almost as much as the bees. You will even attract night pollinators, like moths, who also love the blooms! But what really sets the Magic Fountain™ Weeping Persimmon apart is the tree itself. It is a small variety that grows in a column. And the branches, drooping down, with rich green leaves that will turn bright yellow and orange in the fall.
While the Magic Fountain™ Weeping Persimmon is rather uncommon, it is an uncommonly good choice for both fruit and curb appeal! Fragrant white flowers in spring are alluring to Hummingbirds and butterflies! The unique blooms will even attract night pollinators like moths! Your Magic Fountain™ Weeping Persimmon will then give you a treeful of conical golden-yellow fruit, about an inch in diameter in the late fall.
Once ripe, this American Persimmon cultivar will fall off the tree when ripe! Or pluck one from the tree and taste the rich, sweet flavor with a hint of honey. It is perfect to eat fresh, make jam, add to a salad, blend into a smoothie, or turn into a pudding. Remember to leave the fruit on the tree as long as you can because the longer it stays on the branch, the richer and sweeter it will be.
The Magic Fountain™ Weeping Persimmon is self-fertile, but it does better when you plant it with a partner. This edible ornamental grows rapidly, so it won't be long before you can enjoy the exotic fruit! Your family and friends will be amazed at the tasty flavor this variety produces.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Full sun is what your Magic Fountain™ Weeping Persimmon needs, along with rich, well-drained soil. This easy-to-grow variety can be thirsty, so give it a good drink from your garden hose each week during its first year, and a little more often if the soil is sandy. You might want to add 4-6 inches of arborist mulch to enrich the soil, control weeds, and retain moisture. Plant in an enriched environment with Nature Hills Root Booster for lifelong root system support.
Give Persimmon regular water the first year in your landscape. Once the roots are established in your soil, they can be drought-tolerant. If you see puddles that remain long after a rain, you'll need to 'mound up' as a young tree's roots are very sensitive to poor drainage and lack of oxygen in the soil. When locations are limited, and drainage is a concern, elevate your planting with a raised bed 12 to 18 inches high and at least 36 inches wide and plant directly in the raised bed.
Prune your tree when it is dormant to open the canopy to air circulation, remove crossing branches, and control the height and shape.
- Best In Full Sun
- Enriched Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate to Low Moisture
- Prune When Dormant
- Low Chill Hours
- Low Maintenance & Disease & Pest Resistant
Your neighbors will envy you because of the beautiful tree, the delicious fruit and your great health, all thanks to the Magic Fountain™ Weeping Persimmon Tree. Order yours today at Nature Hills Nursery!
