Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

If you've never seen a Louisa Crabapple (Malus x 'Louisa') in person, you are missing out! This astounding weeping tree is absolutely dripping in showy pink blossoms that appear as deep, red flower buds in spring. Bursting open into and slowly fading to soft rose-pink petals with butter-yellow centers over the course of weeks!
Come spring, the Louisa Crabapple erupts with uncountable flowers that overshadow its foliage, creating a scene of blushing pinks! These masses of buds rival most Cherry blossoms in their impact and number!
And to add more interest, the buds and blooms cover the cascading branches, creating a fountain of fluffy and romantic blooms! Picturesque beauty for any style garden and any size landscape, these are incredibly lovely accent trees!
The Louisa Crabapple is also a highly beneficial tree that attracts birds, bees, butterflies, plus the occasional hummingbird, and draws more attention than you can imagine. So fragrant and eye-catching, the neighbors will be envious!
It will also cheerfully pass its pollen along to your Apple Trees that need a pollinating partner. Tuck this ornamental flowering beauty into orchards to add a touch of whimsy, or add the fruit it produces to your preserves! The Pectin-rich Crabapples help your jam and jelly set up nicely!
Within weeks of blooming, the Louisa Crabapple's cheerful blooms are replaced with golden-yellow fruit kissed with orange where the sun has touched them. These little fruits are no smaller than cherries and will keep your birds busy through fall and into winter!
How to Use Louisa Flowering Crabapple Tree In The Landscape
The Louisa Crabapple fills out with medium to dark green leaves with pointed ends and softly serrated margins. These verdant green leaves turn to a deep golden yellow to announce the arrival of fall.
Perfect as selective shade around your patio, these are focal points for the terrace or for gracing your front entry garden! Set out as an anchor to your home's corner foundation plantings, or large garden beds, the draped branches add a fanciful air to any garden bed and border.
As the Louisa drops its leaves, you'll find its pendulum branches are equally as interesting as its spring, summer, and fall features! Not to mention the winter accentuates the weeping branches beautifully in the snow, enlivening the drearier times of the year.
This petite, compact tree will add charm and interest to any part of your yard that receives full sun. It will add flair and fun to a small front bed or foundation planting. It is also a striking punctuation point as a specimen plant.
Just tall enough when left unpruned to add a lawn blanket for a peaceful reading nook or romantic getaway in your own backyard! The flowing branches in the breeze add an element of motion to the landscape!
#ProPlantTips For Care
Plant in moderately moist, fertile soil that is well-drained. Mulch your Crabapples garden bed well to retain moisture consistency and insulate the roots. Once established, the Louisa Crabapple thrives through dry conditions.
Best in full sun, favoring the morning sunlight, these hardy trees thrive in USDA growing zones 4-8. Situate yours in an area that is protected from frost pockets and with good air circulation.
You can prune Louisa to fit your taste, allowing its branches to maintain a short, umbrella-like appearance or letting them reach all the way to the grass! You can even prune these smaller to tuck into any sized garden.
Prune to keep an open canopy so that both sunlight and airflow reach the interior. Head over to read more on Crabapple Trees and Tree Planting in our Garden Blog!
