Grow a drop of sunshine in your garden with one or more of our brilliant little Lemon Drop™ Miniature Rose Trees (Rosa 'WEKyegi') today! Our expert growers have married this prolific Miniature Rose, hybridized by Tom Carruth, atop a sturdy, straight 2-3 foot tall Rose standard trunk … so you can more easily study each and every fruity lemonade blossom! Very double, old-fashioned blooms smother the head of this Rose tree, just like lemony eye candy!

Lemon Drop™ Miniature Roses are larger than the average Mini Rose - at over an inch each! And they are packed with over 30 petals apiece! That's so much more for you and your pollinators to love! What's more, the incandescent flower power starts in late spring and continues all the way through fall! It's fun to watch the pointed buds open into clear lasting lemonade yellow that won't fade!

Bright, glossy green foliage displays very good disease resistance and gives Lemon Drop™ a wonderfully bushy canopy that shines in the sun! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 6 to 10. The 18-24" high and wide rounded head sits elegantly atop a 2-3 foot standard giving you a 4-5 foot tall glamorous little specimen! These abundant bloomers produce waves of successive buds and blooms all season. You can count on your Lemon Drop™ Miniature Rose Trees for a consistent garden display through autumn!

Planting and Application:

These are darling accent plants and add elevated pops of color to any sun garden location! Dazzle guests as they walk up your front steps with a pair of brilliant sentries planted on either side. Set your mailbox and driveway apart from the rest with a corner planting. Use a series of these munchkins along your garden path to feel like Dorothy Gale in full color, skipping down the yellow brick road! Go ahead and keep the theme going, and pair her with a larger Judy Garland Rose bush for a brilliant color combination!

Who can have a bad day with these cheerful blooms nearby? Keep them as "Thrillers" in patio pots to decorate your outdoor side tables. Kids will be entranced by these petite trees, and their moderately smooth branches have few thorns.

Although the blooms come in a joyful color, their old-fashioned form is quite sophisticated. Plant them in slate gray planters for an easy focal point on your urban balcony with gray and white chevron-striped throw pillows and a yellow citronella candle holder or two for the destination seating area of your dreams!

Plan to snip the clusters of clear, lemon-yellow blossoms for cute Lemon Drop™ Rose bouquets for your kitchen table! Start collecting bud vases, and you can give these tender treats to your local schools, hospitals, and retirement homes! Or for the price of a large bouquet of Roses, you can give the uplifting gift of a Lemon Drop™ Rose tree to that special someone with a pair of chic garden gloves! Celebrate birthdays, new beginnings, and milestones with a darling easy-care Rose tree!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Look for the right planting site for Tree-form Roses and you'll be pleased with their performance. Give them full sun with at least six hours of sunlight, enriched well-drained soil, and adequate air circulation. If the weather stays dry, give supplemental water on a regular basis, plus 3-4 inches of arborist mulch chips, especially on container-grown plants. Use a high-quality Rose fertilizer according to the label directions for these repeat bloomers.

Rose Tree Care & Pruning

Some winter protection for Tree Form Roses is suggested for the cooler zones by overwintering your Rose in an unheated garage after it goes dormant, or outside with a straw and burlap wrap. Then in spring, take it back out or unwrap it and trim the head back to about a 12" sphere just as it begins to grow again in spring.

Early each spring, after the last frost of the year has passed, it's always a good idea to prune back the Rose tree several inches to maintain the nice round form atop its trunk. Keep new blooms returning with occasional deadheading, quickly improving your overall display.

Prune away suckers and branching that forms at the base or on the trunk each year too. Pruning Roses allow for better, bushier growth each year and stimulates new growth. For more about pruning Roses, winterizing Roses, and un-wintering Roses in spring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!

What Is The Best Month to Plant Roses?
