#ProPlantTips for Care:
Rose Trees must have a protected full sun location with at least six hours of sunlight to flower and a location with good air circulation to grow their best. Select a planting site with well-drained soil. Or bring in extra soil in a planting mound to improve drainage. Supply a regular schedule of supplemental water to keep your Roses happy and healthy.
Nature Hills Root Booster formula added in the planting hole gives life-long benefits to the feeder roots. Feed them with high-quality slow-release Rose fertilizer following the label directions, and keep high-nitrogen lawn fertilizer away from most flowering plants. In early spring, prune all the canes down to six inches in early spring. Add a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch over the root zone for many benefits and to make your garden look picture-perfect!
Rose Tree Pruning & Care
Plant Rose Trees in a protected location or move them to a safer area for the winter. Wrap their pots and trunks and apply an extra layer of mulch and leaves. Keep new blooms returning with occasional deadheading, quickly improving your overall display.
Early each spring, after the last frost has passed, it's always a good idea to prune back the Rose tree several inches to maintain the nice round form atop its trunk. You can prune back the canopy hard in early spring to about 12 inches if needed. The canopy will grow right back and bloom for you on new wood. Cut back to a healthy, thick bud that faces outward. Prune out crossing branches and eliminate branches that grow into the center of the canopy.
Pruning Roses allows for better, bushier growth each year and stimulates new growth. Remove suckers and branching that form at the base or on the trunk each year as well. Read all you need about pruning Roses Here, and about winterizing your Roses Here and un-wintering Roses in Spring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!
