Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

The Japanese Plum Yew (Cephalotaxus harringtonia) is one of the best shade-tolerant evergreen shrubs around! Fine-textured needles are soft to the touch and create beautiful dense year-round greenery!

Evergreen foliage emerges a bright green in early spring and then matures to a gorgeous deep bluish-green. The perfect backdrop for the tiny white blossoms and red jewel fruit that forms, only on female bushes if a male is planted nearby. Not to mention a fantastic backdrop for other plants and shrubs too!

Planting and Application:

Quickly reaching a hefty 5-10 foot in both height and width, these are impressive landscaping shrubs for creating lush privacy, living walls, and green seclusion around your seating areas!

Rarely damaged by deer, go ahead and plant a row as a woodland edging without worry! These are easy-care hedges, back-of-the-border shrubs and lush privacy.

Perfect as backdrops for other plants and shrubs, as anchors for garden beds and borders, hide eyesores and of course screening walls when planted in rows or groupings. Plant along your shaded foundation for vivid curb appeal!
