Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Gorgeous, delicious and golden-skinned, the Honey Lightning Plum Tree (Prunus salicina 'Honey Lightning') will leave you shocked by its incredibly sweet, juicy yellow flesh! Ripe when the golden skin blushes a bit red, the soft texture and flavorful fruit are ready for you to pick later in the season. Just in time for back-to-school lunchboxes and after-school snacks!

Spring begins with the typical fragrant white Plum Tree blossoms that bees and butterflies go crazy for! Then filling out with handsome green foliage that is a great shade and fills out the lovely canopy of this good-sized tree! By August you'll begin picking some of the tastiest sweet fruit for all your Plum recipes!

Honey Lightning creates unusual hued sauces and preserves, golden baked goods and smoothies and can be eaten fresh as well! You'll enjoy large harvests from this self-fruitful tree, but even larger ones per tree should you have a compatible Plum in the area to boost pollination.

Planting and Application:

Honey Lightning has lots of low branching for easy harvests. Keep these limbs intact for edible landscaping that also gives you privacy and screening, while providing birds shelter and habitat too! Create linear orchards that define your property and hide an eyesore at the same time! Or plant groupings of these picturesque Plums to shield your seating areas from prying eyes.

Plum trees look lovely year-round and are ideal dual-purpose specimens when limbed up and used as focal points and accent trees. They're bushy enough to use as a backdrop on the north side of your vegetable garden or to shade garden beds too!

  • Golden Yellow Fruit Blushed With Red
  • Sweet, Soft & Juicy Yellow Flesh
  • Fragrant White Spring Flowers
  • Late Season Harvest (August/September)
  • Self-Pollinating & Easy Care

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plum Trees need full sun to bloom and fruit the best, and prefer moderate moisture and fertility. They especially love a mulched bed that's enriched with lots of organic, well-drained soil. Choose a location with good air circulation and prune when they're dormant to keep an open canopy.

  • Full Sun
  • Moderate Moisture & Well-Drained Soil
  • Prune When Dormant
  • Mulch Well
  • 400-600 Chill Hours

The gorgeous golden Honey Lightning Plum Tree will become your new favorite ornamental flowering and fruiting addition to your home landscape or home orchard this year! But only if you order yours today from NatureHills.com before this fantastic new variety sells out!
