To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills sells a large variety of plants with several options available. Plants are offered in both potted containers and as dormant bare root without soil. Here is a helpful resource to understand your options as you create a beautiful landscape with help from Nature Hills.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

Big swords of green upright leaves, the Heliconia Parrot's Beak Choconiana (Heliconia psittacorum 'Choconiana') is a clumping tropical plant that becomes festooned with Bird of Paradise style waxy yellow-orange with pink highlights. The broad leaves are a soothing green and slowly form growing clumps of neat and tidy vertical blades!
Parrot's Beak blooms are unique long-lasting flowers that have finger-like petals that fan out as they mature. Hummingbirds will stop by to check out these blossoms and add to the delight! These tropical accents are broadleaf evergreen tropicals in USDA hardiness zones 11 and are often used in the landscape as an exotic flowering shrubs. Northern growers can use these plants as easy-care indoor houseplants and summer accents on the porch or patio.
Parrot's Beak grows to 2-3 feet in mature height and grows into a dense clump 2-4 feet in width. Indoors or out, these are great in shady sites outside and indirect sunlight indoors. These tropicals bloom throughout the spring and summer, and each flower lasts for quite some time!

Plant Heliconia in part shade and indirect sunlight, filtered shade area indoors and out. Parrot's Beak is very low maintenance and only needs pruned as any leaves turn yellow or get tattered to clean up the clumps. Best in well-drained soil that is moderately moist most of the time, these are not too picky and very forgiving plants!
