Growing Zones 6-9
Interestingly, this Heirloom Hybrid Tea Rose Bush (Rosa 'JACbloom') is not a true heirloom. True heirlooms have been around since before 1867 when the first Hybrid Tea Rose 'La France', was introduced, ushering in a new era of 'modern' Roses. And Heirloom is a decidedly modern Rose!
The color is a rich mauve blend that sometimes borders on pink and sometimes on purple. It is semi-double and has a slight hint of classic Tea Rose fragrance. Introduced in 1972, Heirloom has fantastic qualities that make it an heirloom in your garden for your children, and your grandchildren to enjoy! Neighbors and visiting pollinators will all adore these double blooms!
The lush glossy, deep green foliage grows to a wonderfully neat and tidy rounded form, 4-5 feet in height and width fast! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 6 to 9, this Hybrid Tea Rose has modern resistance to common Rose issues and is very easy to grow.
Planting and Application:
What makes Heirloom really stand out is it's among only a handful of Roses that is truly shade-tolerant. This is a healthy Hybrid Tea that demands a priority position in your garden and its versatility in sun gives you plenty more options for its display! Create hedges and privacy screens from these thorned shrubs and don't worry about if that hedge has trees or your home shading out parts.
Rose gardens and mixed-shrub borders are ideal locations for Heirloom Roses! Cutting gardens and pollinator borders are no-brainer locations for these fragrant blooms! It's elegant enough for formal plantings and free-flowering enough for Cottage borders, all locations are highlighted by the classic beauty and fragrance of this Heirloom Rose!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Roses do their very best in full sun for the most blooms, but Heirloom surprisingly tolerates light shade, so that gives you more options when trying to find the perfect spot to plant! Choose a location with ample air circulation and the drying powers of the morning sun. Roses like a rich, organically high soil medium to grow in and especially need a very well-drained site. Provide ample water for a moderately, yet consistently moist soil environment. Watering during times of drought and peak summer temperatures, and mulch the root system well, without piling it against the crown.
Choose a slow-release, organic fertilizer for Roses to keep yours happy and healthy! Read all you need about pruning Roses Here, and about winterizing your Roses Here and un-wintering Roses in Spring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog! Growing Hybrid Tea Roses in zones colder than zone 7 should be mounded with 8-12 inches of mulch in late fall after the frost killed the leaves for best overwintering.

Where Is The Best Place To Plant Rose Bushes?

What Is The Best Month to Plant Roses?
You can plant Roses any time if you are able to provide enough consistent moisture and attention. While there is not a specific month that is best, generally because it changes with temperatures, climate and growing zone. However, the easiest times of the year to get Rose bushes established in your landscape are in spring after the last frost date, and in fall about 4-6 weeks before the first frost.
