Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

Growing Zones 5-9
If you are looking for a statement plant for your garden, look no further than Gold Breeze Maiden Grass (Miscanthus sinensis 'Gold Breeze')! This tall yet narrow growing scene-stealer is big, bold, and beautiful!
This tall clumping grass, sometimes called Zebra Grass because of its stripes, gets as tall as 6 feet when in bloom, with a generous fountain-like spread! If that isn't enough, the broad, arching blades are apple green with dramatic, wide golden yellow bars that repeat all down the length of each blade, giving them a funky striped look!
Then, in late summer feathery pinkish flowers that quickly transform into golden, fluffy plumes emerge on top of tall and sturdy stems. These then persist through winter for dramatic interest in the snowy landscapes of USDA growing zones 5 to 9! This warm-season Ornamental Grass readily takes the place of the southern climate-loving Pampas Grass and looks great as home décor and floral design. Talk about interesting!
Planting and Application:
Use it as a phenomenal accent plant, or if you have the space try it in mass. It performs well in full sun or part shade and requires very little water once it is established. It doesn't need pruning unless you want to clean it up in late fall or early spring. The plumes and stiff upright foliage turn tan to beige yet remain on the plant, even in winter, adding its form and structure to your winter landscape.
A single Ornamental Grass specimen or groupings add curb appeal to your foundation plantings while softening hardscapes and the corner of buildings. Tuck into the sunny Rock Garden for vertical drama or as a visual barrier along the sidewalk and that roadside hell strip to divide your front yard from the road. Rows and groupings create privacy and pinpoint screening, while adding their white noise and motion to your landscape!
- Funky Striped Green & Gold Foliage
- Flower Plumes on 6' Tall Stems
- Dramatic Height & Narrow Space-Saving Width
- Versatile & Adaptable Warm-Season Grass
- Wonderful Four-Season Interest
- Specimens, Focal Points, Backdrops & En Masse Accents
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Ornamental Grass grows upright in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. This Maiden Grass also tolerates partial shade but may be more arching and fountain-like. It is very hardy and low growing, it tolerates a wide range of soil types, is moderately drought tolerant once established, and holds up to wind and snow! Prune the clumps in early spring and clean out their crowns of debris for a fresh start each year. A bit slower growing, especially in the spring, these warm-season grasses are slow to show their green new growth, but then show off through the sun and heat!
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Grows Anywhere, Even in Wet Soil
- Plant in Well-Drained Soil
- Adaptable To a Wide-Range of Conditions
- Prune Early Spring
