Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Also known as Torch Lily, Red Hot Pokers are ideal as specimen plants and novelty focal points! Plant them as an accent throughout any garden for a formal appearance. Like red and yellow exclamation points standing tall, these plants will draw the eye to any mass planting or In rows!

Plant throughout your Perennial beds and borders for a burst of unique color, bring that Cottage garden into the 21st century, or fire up that Rock garden! Anywhere these go, they take the spotlight!

Stylish borders and edging for beds, paths and walkways, the wonderful foliage is also a perfect facer plant to front your larger shrubs and trees. Line a sunny foundation with eye-catching flowers or enliven a tired driveway with blooms that will turn heads!

Sized even for large planters and containers, your porch, patio and sunny balconies can be adorned with these curious perennials!

#ProPlantTips For Care

Plant in full sun for the best bloom color and longevity of your perennial. Hardy in USDA growing zones 5 through 9, Red Hot Pokers are cold and heat tolerant!

These thrive very well-drained soils with moderate fertility. Be sure to plant in a location where there is no standing water or soggy soil, Kniphofia requires good drainage!

Enjoying moderate moisture and watering during summer and in times of drought, always give young plants continuous moisture to become established.

Remove spent blooms throughout the summer to keep the flowers returning until autumn, and prune in late autumn for a clean winter appearance. Occasionally semi-evergreen in warmer growing zones. Otherwise, these are low-care plants! Deer resistant so you won’t have to worry about any visitors other than your local pollinators and birds.

Flamenco Red Hot Poker is a fantastically unique addition to your garden this year! Order yours today at NatureHills.com before this fiery little number is out of stock!
