#ProPlantTips for Care:
Brilliant Pink Iceberg Rose Tree loves the full sun, creating stronger stems and bountiful blooms. Thriving in USDA growing zones 5 through 9, these Rose trees do appreciate a thick layer of mulch over the root system to keep them cool and raise the moisture levels higher, especially in the hotter growing zones.
Iceberg Rose Trees do their absolute best in moderately moist soil and adequate moisture is a must during that crucial established period, for the longevity and health of these plants. Roses do not tolerate drying out or sitting in water. Very well-drained sites are required to keep your Rose Tree healthy and blooming and good air circulation is important.
To keep your blooms happy and your tree happy, apply a slow-release Rose fertilizer each spring and amend the soil with compost and rich, organic material. If drainage is an issue in your area or water pools in your planting site, try mounding or berming the soil to create a raised planting site. Plant directly into this mound to bring your root system above the water level.
Rose Tree Care & Pruning
Some winter protection for Tree Form Roses is suggested for the colder zones 5 and 6 and some of zone 7 too by overwintering in an unheated garage after it goes dormant, or outside with straw and burlap wrap. Then in spring, take it back out or unwrap it and trim the head back to about a 12" sphere just as it begins to grow again in spring.
Early each spring, after the last frost of the year has passed, it's always a good idea to prune back the Rose tree several inches to maintain the nice round form atop its trunk. Keep new blooms returning with occasional deadheading, quickly improving your overall display.
Prune away suckers and branching that forms at the base or on the trunk each year too. Pruning Roses allows for better, bushier growth each year and stimulates new growth.
