The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Growing Zones 6-9
It's always nice when you don't have to choose between striking foliage and luscious blooms. Lil Miss Sunshine® Bluebeard PP 22,160 (Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Janice') has both! A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® selection, this new Caryopteris variety is a garden stunner for sure!
Even though Lil Miss Sunshine® is shaped like a classic Bluebeard, the foliage is a shocking yellow-green that commands attention from across the yard and makes the sky-blue and purplish blossoms practically crackle! The colorful foliage and late summer-to-fall flowers more than compensate for their space-saving petite size!
The leaves are aromatic making Lil Miss Sunshine® beloved as pathway edging and in containers where you will frequently brush past it! The aromatic foliage also makes these shrubs deer-resistant. They are also drought tolerant and will return year after year throughout USDA planting zones 6 to 9.
Planting and Application:
If you want to make a garden statement, plant these in mass in your perennial beds and watch the traffic stop. On top of the color show, your summer garden will become set in motion by the butterflies and bees that can't get enough of the flowers!
Plant this beauty with deep scarlet and purple flowers, or among dark foliage plants for a power-color combo! Ideal for use in front of dark green evergreens of hedges or foundation plantings, the cheerful bright color makes for a truly great effect!
Of course, for your pots, mixed containers, and planters on sunny balconies, porches, and around seating areas or poolside sunny areas, the Bluebeard sets the mood and cools these hot sunny areas with its soothing blue hue!
Ideal beauties for the front of the garden bed, in the Cottage border, lighting up the mixed perennial garden, and tough enough for the Rock Garden, lining pathways, sidewalks, your driveway, or highlighting the mailbox are also fantastic uses for the cheerful Lil Miss Sunshine®!
- Soothing Purple-Blue Flowers
- Long-Lasting Late-Season Flowers

#ProPlantTips for Care:
This Bluebeard has a compact, tight growth habit, and has the best color in full sun but also tolerates partial shade locations (especially in warmer climates). Requiring loose, well-drained soils and moderate, regular moisture, Bluebeard can be very drought-tolerant once they are established! A 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch is a great idea to retain additional moisture.
Bluebeards bloom on this year's wood (new growth) and can be hard-pruned to maintain their trim shape. In cold winter zones, Bluebeards die to the ground like an herbaceous, while in mild winter areas, they retain their top growth like a shrub. Either way, pruning back to the ground in spring will give you a shock of new growth every year.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Adaptable To A Variety Of Well-Drained Soils
- Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
- Prune Early Spring - Blooms On New Wood
