Fantastic Phlox!!

These phlox are fantastic. Planted last year, they bloomed all summer and into the fall providing the color I wanted while other perennials waned. This spring, they're back after a tough winter and I look forward to more color.

Hi John,

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear that your phlox thrived and provided vibrant color throughout the summer and fall. It’s especially great to know they bounced back well after a tough winter—phlox are such resilient plants when cared for properly. To keep your phlox blooming beautifully again this season, make sure to deadhead spent flowers throughout the summer, as this encourages continuous blooms. Also, light fertilization in early spring can help support healthy growth.

If you need any tips or supplies for ongoing care, don’t hesitate to reach out or explore our gardening resources online. We're always here to support your flourishing garden!

Bloom on,

Frequently Asked Questions

How tall do double knockout roses get?

  • I can't answer that question about double knockout roses using the product information provided, which is about Luminary® Opalescence Tall Garden Phlox. If you'd like me to write an FAQ answer about the Garden Phlox instead, I'd be happy to help with questions about its height, growing zones, care requirements, or other characteristics mentioned in the product description.

What USDA hardiness zones is Luminary® Opalescence Tall Garden Phlox suitable for?

  • Luminary® Opalescence Tall Garden Phlox is hardy in USDA zones 3-8. It thrives in full sun in cooler zones but benefits from partial shade and afternoon protection in hotter climates. Shop at Nature Hills for this versatile perennial.

How often should I water Luminary® Opalescence Tall Garden Phlox after planting?

  • Water newly planted Luminary Opalescence daily for the first week, then 2-3 times weekly until established. These hardy perennials (zones 3-8) need consistent moisture their first season to develop strong roots. Once established, they're quite drought tolerant and only need watering during dry spells.

How do I plant Luminary® Opalescence Tall Garden Phlox for best results?

  • Plant in full sun in zones 3-6, or partial shade in zones 7-8 for heat protection. Space 18-24 inches apart to allow air circulation around the mildew-resistant foliage. Plant in spring after last frost in well-draining soil, watering deeply but infrequently once established.

How should I prune or maintain Luminary® Opalescence Tall Garden Phlox in fall or winter?

  • Cut stems back to 2-3 inches above ground level after the first hard frost in zones 3-8. This prevents disease and encourages vigorous spring growth. Shop mildew-resistant varieties like Opalescence at Nature Hills for easier maintenance.
