Blue Angel's big blue-green leaves emerge in early spring and burst out of the ground, ready to sparkle in the morning sun! Hardy in USDA growing zones 3-8 are very cold hardy perennials. Highly filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for lush, healthy growth. The morning sun is tolerable and helps to intensify the leaf colors, but the hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to Hostas!

Highly resistant to heat and humidity long as they're given adequate shade and moisture, especially throughout the hottest part of the growing season. Tolerant of dry shade once established, these become incredibly resilient perennials! Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained soils that are highly organic. Preferring a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. A generous 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch chips helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill.

Low maintenance and easy care, there's not much work for you! Once frosts arrive, Hosta is an herbaceous perennial that dies back to the ground and emerges again in early spring.
