Description
Incredibly brilliant foliage groundcover, the SunSparkler® series has introduced a brilliantly color-saturated Sedum for your landscape! The cherry-red, fiery color of Wildfire Stonecrop (Sedum rupestre 'Wildfire') will be a standout addition to your garden!
The small oval leaves are waxy and show-stopping bright red! This amazing ground cover will fill your landscape with incredible color! With a two-toned effect, the foliage is further enhanced by a bright pink margin on each leaf!
Forming dense spreading mounds that add immense drama to any garden, Wildfire has glossy foliage and brighter red new growth. Generally growing to only a few inches high and 10-15" wide, these provide filler and brilliance as they wind around your other garden plants.
These easy-to-grow perennials are able to stand up to the full sun without failing. Wildfire's flower heads are deep rose-red to reddish-pink clusters the hungry pollinators won't be able to resist!
With blooms lasting all summer until fall frost, the seed heads dry on the plant, you can prune these off for a clean winter appearance or leave them for both winter interest or food for songbirds! This perennial Sedum is tolerant of about anything and puts up with some of the harshest conditions your landscape has to offer!
Planting and Application:
Sedum Wildfire is an intense and unique border and perennial garden addition! Their vivid coloration and bold blooms add depth and drama to the landscape. Any sunny bed and Cottage garden will be enchanted with this vibrant foliage.
Growing in full sun without wilting or burning, the dense habit and thicker foliage allow Wildfire to spread and sprawl about your sunny sites, with color all growing season. Pollinator gardens and Rock Gardens both benefit from these curious plants!
The attractive foliage is drought and salt-tolerant so plant these in that 'hell strip' along the sidewalk or road, and those in coastal areas can enjoy Stonecrop near ocean spray without worry. Easy to grow, they are perfect for gardeners of all experience levels!
Incredible contrast among your perennial beds and an amazing spiller in planters and containers. Plant en masse in hot sunny locations, which are natural places to plant Stonecrop, and will be amplified enormously because of this incredible color combo!
A bold row of these cherry-red groundcovers will enhance any area! Try a row in front of your foundation shrubs or along a sunny walkway. These naturally spill and tumble over rock walls and retaining walls beautifully. Try creating a focal point planting in your garden by clustering these in a grouping of 3 or more for a stand-out accent!
Asian-inspired and Zen gardens welcome this fiery Sedum as it brightly winds and tumbles over the landscape without becoming overpowering. Plant around upright structures and ornamental grasses to enhance their height, or let it ramble around your Roses. Seating areas, birdbaths, outdoor sculptures, and urns become the main features with a skirting of these around their base.
Sedum are well-known for their drought tolerance which makes them amazing for Xeriscaping while their heat tolerance makes them perfect for Firescaping. Wide bands and blocks of this vibrant plant will be low-maintenance barriers around your landscape. These are tough and hardy enough for both residential or commercial settings.
Great for erosion control, Sedum creeps and spreads readily without lots of care, so fill that hard-to-mow slope with bright color! Each mound will grow together to form a uniform carpet of vivid rosy red, creating a low-maintenance groundcover. Adding an eye-catching designer touch to your landscape!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Wildfire Stonecrop loves the full sun and tolerates heat and sun all summer without fail. Handling some part sun in hotter climates. Stonecrop does amazingly in any kind of well-drained soil, and can also tolerate poor or rocky soils with ease. In fact, Stonecrops grown in organically rich soil are actually lanky and weak-stemmed. Stonecrop has very low moisture needs and is very cold-hardy in growing zones 4 and up. You can add a 3-4 inch thick layer of arborist mulch to the base to help keep moisture more regulated and enrich the soil. Sedum hybrids are hardy perennials that benefit from division every few years and the removal of dead debris each early spring.
- Easy to Grow & Low Maintenance in Full Sun
- Any Very Well-Drained Soil - Grows In Poor Soil
- Moderate to Low Moisture Needs Once Established
- Heat, Salt & Drought Tolerant Plant
- Cold Hardy, Rabbit & Deer Resistant
