Sweet treat that is twice is nice, the Double Blooming Pink Freesia (Freesia x hybrida 'Pink') is just the pick-me-up your garden needs! This pleasant variety blooms with multiple shoots of buds that take their turns opening to reveal trumpet-shaped blooms. These flowers are adored for their ability to extend the late spring blooming season. The bright pink blooms are accented with bright yellow throats and emit a sweet, slightly peppery scent!

To make their scented blooms even more distinct, their racemes arc high above their foliage. They're also cherished as cut flowers that will last for up to three weeks as their flowers slowly open from the base of their racemes to their tips.

All Freesia varieties grow from corms that survive warm winters in zone 9 and 10. Otherwise, we recommend using them in containers that can be brought indoors in other zones or used as annuals when planted in early spring. The incredible coloration and fragrance will enliven any dull, boring spot in your garden. These plants make great gifts and houseplants!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Freesia shines its brightest in full sun and thrives in quick-draining soil. Freesia corms are easy to grow in sandy, loamy, average, moist well-drained soil. When planted properly, they bloom profusely and won't disappoint you! These spring beauties pop out of precious and delicate corms. Deadhead after flowers fade and trim the leaves down when they turn yellow.

Plant about 2 inches deep with the pointed end up, spaced about 6 inches apart. The corms multiply and will naturalize in USDA growing zones 9 and 10. Provide moderate fertility and a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch over the soils surface.

Northern gardeners In USDA planting zones 1-8 can use Freesia as annuals for seasonal container or garden accents, or bring them in for the winter as houseplants. You can also treat these corms as you would Canna and Dahlia, and lift your plants in the fall before a hard frost but after they've gone dormant. Deadhead after flowers fade but keep the leaves so they can make food for the bulb, then trim the leaves down when they turn yellow.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Enriched Well-Drained Soil & Moderate Moisture
  • Warm Weather Bulbs
  • Annual or Perennial Corms
  • Deadhead as Flowers Fade & Prune Down When Greenery Yellows
