These make for incredible cut flowers in vases. Florists often use Calla Lily as boutonnieres, in bridal bouquets and flower arrangements because of their elegant and simple beauty! Great upright and vertical accent plants, adding a polished look to about any kind of garden bed or bouquet.
Sometimes these can be used as houseplants for the winter with great success! Cold climate gardeners can also dig these tubers in the fall and store them as they would Dahlia or Canna bulbs, keeping them in cool storage in garages or sheds for the winter months.

Yellow Calla Lilies are herbaceous perennials in USDA zones 8-10 Those in the colder northern growing zones won’t miss out! Growing zones 7 and under dig these up in autumn and store them in a cool, dark, frost-free location for the winter, or can use these as a houseplant throughout the cold months. Or simply use them as an annual in planters and patio pots.
Preferring full sun or partial shade, those in the warmer of its growing zones will find these do better with some afternoon shade as relief from the hot sun. If you do plant them in full sun, be sure to provide near-constant access to water.
Calla Lily bulbs require average to high fertility in consistently moist, well-drained soils, so provide regular watering throughout the year and during the dry season. Not particular about what type of soil they’re planted in, as long as it is moist and very well-draining.
A generous layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill. Clean up dead leaves and flowers in late autumn when the plant takes a break from growing.
