This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Need a red Salvia? This isn't pinkish-red, blush-red or orange-red. This is RED-red. Blood red. Ruby-slippers red. Parrot-feather red!
The gorgeous WINDWALKER® Royal Red Salvia (Salvia darcyi x S. microphylla 'PWIN03S') is going to make your heart race and your soul dance! This is one of the rare 'true red' perennials that you can’t just can't live without!
The color alone makes it worth the purchase. It is a big, bold breathtaking color! But the big color alone isn't the only thing big and bold about WINDWALKER® Royal Red. It is also just plain big and bold! The gracefully arching stems are topped with ruby-red flowers from early summer all the way through the fall!
Not only will they attract human visitors to the garden, but they will also attract scores of bees and butterflies from all over the area! This is also a Hummingbird-magnet because of the nectar-laden tubular florets!
Planting and Application:
We've read of people planting this in their front yard, only to have traffic stopping so that passwersby could get pictures of all of the hummingbirds and butterflies gathered in one place! You'll want to create a pollinator garden right in your front landscaping!
The big and bold red presence shines in the sun garden as tall perennial accents and back-of-the-border focal points. Growing up to 4 feet tall and wide, WINDWALKER® Royal shows up and shows off! They are perfect for dry slopes or banks where the water runs off too quickly for other plants to root effectively. They are fantastic cut flowers and thrilling in the vase bouquets!
Create small hedges along sunny pathways and the backs of your landscape beds as backdrops for the growing season, bringing bold color to everything in your garden beds! A single specimen in your garden becomes a prominent focal point! Even in large planters, WINDWALKER® becomes a significant thriller!
Wildflower gardens, Cut flower gardens, and Cottage borders are lovely locations for these Royal Red perennials! Hardy enough for your Rock Gardens and those hot, dry, and sunny sites throughout USDA planting zones 5 to 9.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
These hardy and colorful perennial Salvia are heat-and-humidity lovers that thrive in any well-drained, and even rocky, poor soil. Plant in full sun for the most blooms and strongest stems and branching. Water regularly with a moderate amount of water their first year, but once established, Salvia becomes very drought tolerant, only needing supplemental moisture during extended drought.
Plant with Nature Hills Root Booster and top-dress the area with 3-4 inches of arborist mulch for insulation, moisture retention, and to block weeds. Deadhead the blooms as they fade to encourage rebloom until frost, and prune back your entire mound in the very early spring. Salvia are clumping perennials that appreciate being divided every 3-5 years to maintain their vigor.
- Full Sun Perennials
- Well-Drained Soils
- Drought Tolerant Once Established
- Deadhead For Return Blooms & Prune Early Spring
- Hardy, Rabbit & Deer-Resistant
