A Dogwood everyone will love! The Willoway Select Kousa Dogwood Tree (Cornus kousa 'Willoway Select' PPAF) is a popular variety that can be used a number of ways around your yard! Once it starts to bloom, don't be surprised if neighbors keep stopping by to ask what variety you planted! If you want to keep it secret, we understand. This tree does offer a wondrous sight that may make you a bit selfish.

In the late spring, your Willoway Select Kousa Dogwood will be cloaked in delicate white blossoms that will attract pollinator from near and far. The blooms from this variety won’t disappear overnight either. The Willoway Select maintains its blooms for up to a month, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy its snow-white stage.

The Willoway Select Kousa Dogwood produces a small berry that resembles a raspberry in size and color, and while not the reason most gardeners buy a Dogwood, they are edible! Not feeling too curious? Don't worry, at least they give you many hours of relaxing birdwatching as songbirds arrive in droves to feast! They also add to the glorious red fall foliage and even persist well until winter if the birds leave you some!

Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 8, this Tree is shipped with ample lower limbs and branching, that way you can use its 18-20 foot tall and wide canopy any way you wish! Keep it as a shrubby form for maximum ground-up screening, or limb-up, and create a spectacularly showy specimen tree!

Planting and Application:

Anchor a foundation planting or garden bed with these voluminous flowering ornamentals! The drifts of white flowers, the curious red fruit, and the phenomenal fall show will give you something to look at year-round! This fantastic specimen and focal point tree will light up your spring curb appeal in leaps and bounds!

The Willoway Select Kousa Dogwood is a narrower, more upright variety, that you can use as an anchor or focal point tree to add romance to your landscape your yard. Plant it as part of your landscaping and you will soon be enjoying its multi-season beauty along with the birds and butterflies that will be visiting your yard.

Keep the lower limbs and branching for incredibly showy privacy rows and hedges that birds and wildlife flock to. We're sure the neighbors will be too distracted to realize you're blocking their messy yard and prying eyes! Whether en masse or mixed among other flowering shrubs and trees, you'll have plenty to look at on your side of the property line as well! Try mixing and matching with other Kousa Dogwoods like the Willoway Variegata 2 Dogwood for a spectacular show!

These are ideal for naturalized groupings and in informal clusters in the understory to create the wilderness garden of your dreams! Bring screening and peaceful beauty to your outdoor garden rooms and seating areas with Willoway Selects easy-going nature!

  • Tons Of White Spring Flowers On Horizontal Branches
  • Long-Lasting Flowers Grow On Top of The Branching
  • Lush Green Foliage & Fantastic Red Fall Color
  • Butterfly, Bee & Songbird Friendly!
  • Beautiful Small Ornamental Tree, Incredible Specimen, Groupings & Understory

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Your Willoway Select Kousa Dogwood will enjoy a spot that has full sun to partial shade. It loves organically rich, slightly acidic soil, that is moist but not wet, so water it regularly, but do not overwater. If your soil lacks plant matter, feel free to add compost, this will help provide nutrients as well as improve drainage. They love having their root systems covered with a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch to keep the root system evenly moist and cooler.

Prune Dogwood to shape when dormant, and remove water growth or suckers after flowering. Decide what you want to keep first, then remove crossed branches and branches heading into the interior of the canopy to open it up for sunlight penetration and air circulation.

Another great thing about this Kousa hybrid is that it shows better resistance to disease better than other Flowering Dogwoods!

  • Full Sun & Partial/Afternoon Shade
  • Needs Well-Drained Acidic Soil
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Prune When Dormant
  • Kousa Hybrid Shrubby Tree

White in the spring, dark green in the summer, and a delicious mix of reds in the fall. Add to this the wildlife that it will attract, and you have a wonderful addition to your yard! It is time to put one of these unique and beautiful trees in your cart before they are all gone! Order now at Nature Hills!
