#ProPlantTips for Care

This deciduous Rose is low-maintenance requiring limited care and attention if planted properly. Planting this Rose Tree in full sun with rich, well-drained soil allows your plant to grow to its full mature growth of 3-4 feet tall and wide.

If that is too large for your garden, then no need to fret. You can trim it to your personal preference and it will work its magic regardless of its size.

Using mulch as your personal assistant can help ensure that your Rose Tree is provided with even moisture. Not only will the White Licorice™ Rose Tree appreciate the special treatment, but so will your garden as a whole. Mulch has the capability to add a dramatic background to allow all our garden colors to shine day in and day out. On top of that, it creates an extra layer of protection from diseases.

To maintain lavish blooms, in the early spring, you can prune the head back 6 to 8 inches just before it begins to grow to remove any dead or damaged branches.

Rose Tree Care & Pruning

Early spring pruning will give your Roses a nice even start with fresh new growth and a deserving spa day before they go back to work. Some winter protection for Tree Form Roses is suggested for the cooler zones by overwintering your Rose in an unheated garage after it goes dormant, or outside with a straw and burlap wrap. Then in spring, take it back out or unwrap it and trim the head back to about a 1-2 foot sphere just as it begins to grow again in spring.

Early each spring, after the last frost of the year has passed, it's always a good idea to prune back the Rose tree several inches to maintain the nice round form atop its trunk. Keep new blooms returning with occasional deadheading, quickly improving your overall display.

Prune away suckers and branching that forms at the base or on the trunk each year too. Pruning Roses allows for better, bushier growth each year and stimulates new growth. Prune in early spring to maintain plenty of dense branching. Want more info about pruning Roses, winterizing Roses, and un-wintering Roses in spring?
