Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

You have surely heard that it takes two to tango, right? Well, it does! Your garden and this beautiful Tango Weigela shrub (Weigela florida 'Tango') are waiting to dance this spring! Swarms of Hummingbirds and pollinators will join in to cut a rug all growing season long!

Tango blooms for several weeks in early to mid-summer. The blossoms are tight clusters of small bell-shaped flowers that are a gorgeously romantic blend of pale pinkish-red with a flash of yellow in the throat, two color partners that definitely dance well together! Then you'll enjoy an encore rebloom later in the growing season!

It is compact and bushy with delicious purple foliage that is a must for any garden, but especially for a limited landscape where size is at a premium! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 8, and grows to a tidy space-saving 2-3 feet in height and width!

Planting and Application:

Tango Weigela is the perfect partner in your summer borders and beds. It looks great on its own, but also makes a fantastic grouped accent, or facer plant before a leggier hedgerow! This variety looks as great as an unpruned, informal low hedge as it does as a carefully pruned fountain-like or manicured look! Add interesting color and definition anywhere, without a lot of effort from you.

These smaller Weigelas can be used in containers and planters around sunny porches and patios! Their space-saving size makes these ornamental accents perfect for container gardeners and balcony plantings alike! For a truly disco-worthy garden, mix it with chartreuses, yellows, and spring greens! Include a Rumba Weigela for a varied mixed-shrub border of color!

  • Pinkish-Red Trumpet-Shaped Blooms & Yellow Throats
  • Bushy Compact Smaller Sized Shrubs
  • Gorgeous Purple Foliage
  • Hummingbird & Pollinator Friendly Nectar-Rich Blooms
  • Perfect in Planters, Facer Plants, Hedges, Specimens & Foundations!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Tango Weigela shrubs love the sun and need to be watered regularly in the hottest parts of the summer. Doing best in average garden soils, Weigela enjoys moderate moisture levels. Weigela does need well-drained soils but is not particular on the soil type. A generous layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture in the ground as well as insulates the root system from heat and chill. It is compact enough that you don't need to prune it, but it's best to wait until after the spring blooms fade. Weigela does benefit from a renewal pruning every few years.

  • Most Blooms & Best Color in Full Sun
  • Adaptable to a Variety of Well-Drained Soils
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Tolerates Urban Conditions
  • Easy Care & Low-Maintenance & Deer Resistant
  • Prune After Spring Bloom & No Deadheading Required

A swirling dance of romantic color! The Tango Weigela is saving a spot for you on its dance card! Don't wait until we're sold out of this striking, easy-care shrub. Order yours today at Nature Hills!
