Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Colorful skins and cloves, the Violet Spring Garlic (Allium sativum 'Violet Spring') is a spicy flavored Garlic with a pleasant aroma, ideal for flavoring fish and seafood, but also great for baking and stir fry. Well-known for its high yield and high clove count per Garlic head.

Violet Spring Garlic is cold and heat-hardy throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 9, and the scapes can grow up to 2 feet tall. A hardneck variety, Violet Spring is a vigorous and upright variety originating from Asia.

Planting & Application:

When planting, divide the dormant bulbs into separate cloves (called bulbils) and plant individually with a small portion of the bulb poking above the soil, root side down. Space cloves 2 to 4 inches apart in rows 6 inches apart. Harvest once the tops have begun to brown and store them in a braid or a cool, dry place with plenty of air circulation.

Violet Spring Garlic is great raw or sauteed without any overpowering Garlic flavor! You can even grow 'Green Garlic' that is spring planted and used more like green onions which are very versatile and excellent in cooking as well!

  • Creamy White Large Cloves With Red/Purple Skins
  • Extremely Cold Hardy & Great Storing Garlic
  • Not Overpowering Full Flavor
  • Hardneck Garlic Variety
  • Fall or Spring Planted Depending On Growing Zone

#ProPlantTips for Care:

In most cooler climates, Hardneck Garlic can be planted in the fall and harvested in early summer when the tops turn yellow. However, in warmer climates Garlic can be planted in the early spring.
