This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

This Viking Chief is not storming villages anytime soon. It doesn't wear a horned helmet or have a beard, either. The Viking Chief Peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Viking Chief') seems to be more of a lover than a fighter. With its brilliant magenta petals and fluffy yellow stamen, this flower will win your heart over! What the Viking Chief Peony does have is the strength and resilience you'd expect from a chief and warrior, though.
This attractive plant has a glossy green mound of foliage that looks full and verdant in or out of bloom. The semi-double blooms begin as tight, silky buds, but as the guard petals open, you'll find this Viking Chief a ruffled softy on the inside.
While it begins producing its showiest and fragrant blooms after it's been established, you can expect it to perform like a champion. It produces large, vivacious, semi-double dark pink blooms that pop with a golden yellow center.
Planting and Application:
Use the Viking Chief Peony in your perennial border or mixed border. Keep it close to your walkway to be able to admire the pollinators that stop by. If you want a blast of pink in your cottage garden, this is an ideal choice. Pair it with mid-season and late-season bloomers to keep your garden bright and colorful from spring into summer.
When you plant your Viking Chief Peony garden, pollinators will pillage your Peonies! These vibrant blooms smell lovely and taste great to hummingbirds and butterflies. The Viking Chief Peony features a sturdy, stiff stem that doesn't falter when it comes to keeping its blooms upright. This makes these flowers perfect for cut flower arrangements.
- Large Magenta Semi-Double Flowers
- Attracts Butterflies & Hummingbirds
- Long-Lived
- Strong Stems & Great Cut Flowers
- Cold Hardy
