Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds galore! The Upright Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis 'UprightRosemary') and its aromatic foliage and lavender-blue blossoms are a huge draw for tiny winged creatures! Featuring a bolt upright form, these dense, clumping woody perennials have incredibly intensely scented foliage!

These are a crafters dream with a wide variety of household uses! From potpourri, sachets, dried wreaths, floral arrangements and dried bouquets, these are incredibly ornamental when in full bloom! Not to mention the leaves make tasty soup, sauces, herbed vegetables, savory dishes and flavorful baked goods! The scent is spicy and invigorating!

Rosemary leaves are spiky and needle-like, and oh-so fragrant! Growing about 2-feet tall, this selection stands tall and proud among other garden herbs and perennials alike! Even container gardens and mixed plantings in the sun seem to let these beauties show off! While not cold tolerant, northern gardeners can enjoy these as an annual specimen or bring them in for the winter.

Planting and Application:

Upright Rosemary loves drier Mediterranean conditions and full sun, so plant in Rock gardens and hot patios, sunny porch pots, or of course, Kitchen and Herb gardens! Try making your own Knot Garden with other pungent herbs like Cascading Rosemary, Creeping Thyme, Greek Oregano and Lavenders!

Versatile edible ornamentals, these look right at home in cottage and rustic gardens, Cutting and Pollinator borders as well as porch and patio planters! The foliage has a cooling effect within the garden, despite growing in the full sun. Imagine rows and low hedges of blue-green topped with lavender-blue blooms! Those hot dry swaths along sun-baked sidewalks or driveways become heavenly scented property definition!

  • Vertical Reaching Growth
  • Blue-Green Highly Aromatic Foliage
  • Edible & Ornamental Crafts & Décor
  • Lavender-Blue Summer Blooms
  • Pollinators & Hummingbirds

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Once established, Rosemary thrives in low moisture and occasional drought. Rosemary is annual in colder zones or can be brought indoors for the winter. It’s a perennial in warmer climates, and in fact, it can grow large with age!

  • Full Sun
  • Sharply-Drained Enriched Soil
  • Low to Moderate Moisture Once Established
  • Prune Back in Early Spring if Needed
  • Woody Perennial in Zones 8-11
