Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

It's time to make a real statement in your garden with the showy orange blooms of Tropicanna® Canna (Canna indica 'Phasion'). Those va-va-voom blooms are boosted by Incredible, broad leaves in a wild, variegated mix of red, pink, yellow, and green.

This stunning plant is a perennial in USDA Growing Zone 7 and higher. In colder areas of the country, use Tropicanna Canna as a brilliant annual; or lift the rhizomes and overwinter them for next year!

Planting and Application:

You and your guests will be dazzled by the high-value of this dramatic selection. Use Tropicanna Canna in the ground or keep them as "Thrillers" in oversized garden containers.

  • These easy-care plants work well in boggy, moist soil. Decorate your Water Features and Rain Gardens with their vibrant foliage and lush florets.
  • This introduction by Anthony Tesselaar is a top choice for both commercial landscapes and home gardens alike! Count on it to elevate the tone of your design to new heights.
  • Versatile vertical plants like Tropicanna Canna are worth their weight in gold. Create a visual screen with help from their thick, dynamic leaves.
  • Plant a trio on either side of a garden gate for an enchanting entrance. As you might imagine, they'll bring a tropical…almost Asian flair to your space.
  • People adore using Tropicanna Canna as cut flowers from midsummer through fall! What's more, you can also use the foliage in your arrangements, too.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Give them a sheltered, sunny spot with moist soils and they'll thrive for you. Enjoy their wonderful presence with a spot in the background of your border or as a feature plant.

  • In Zones 6 and up, lift the rhizomes in late fall to overwinter them in stored dormancy and plant once the threat of spring frost has passed. In Zones 7 and higher, you'll simply prune foliage to the ground in late fall. It will reappear in spring
  • Cannas are hungry, so be sure to feed them a slow-release fertilizer in spring. You'll want plenty of florets to come coming on the strong stems, after all!
