Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

We know what you're thinking, "Be still my beating heart!"! Yes, these bold and bright Crocus bulbs are as wondrous as they sound. The Tricolor Crocus (Crocus 'Tricolor') is a true statement piece for the early spring garden.

There is no Crocus more daring, exciting, and showy than the Tricolor Crocus. This magical flower redefines just how stunning Crocuses can be. With cornflower-blue petals with gold throats ringed in white, these tri-color creations are amazing!

Not only do they look like they were inspired by the best of the 70s tie-dyes, but their bright tangerine stamens add an extra pop of powerful color. The Tricolor Crocus isn't just adored for its impressive coloration. These award-winning Crocuses have an elegant goblet form.

These hardy perennial corms respond to the weather by opening their widest when the sun shines bright and closing as cloud cover takes over or rain begins to fall. As one of the hardiest plants you'll find, they even take snowfall in stride. This Crocus variety is widely adaptable and hardy!

Planting and Application:

The Tricolor Crocus outperforms other varieties as a front bed planting, in mass plantings throughout your yard, or as a low-growing container plant. Plant these by the dozen for the biggest and most colorful impact come early spring. They're also happy to highlight your hardscaping or rockery with their luminous beauty.

Crocus are fantastic for both early spring color outdoors and even winter forcing indoors! Containers and small-scale gardens are perfect for these larger-than-life perennial bulbs! Use as space-saving edging and along sidewalks and garden paths or brightening a Cottage and pollinator border!

  • Tricolor Violet, Gold & White Petals
  • Vertical Spiky Two-Tone Green Slender Foliage
  • Great Indoors & Out
  • Early Spring Blooms For Pollinators
  • Excellent Versatility - Edging, Borders, Containers & En Masse

#ProPlantTips for Care:

While complex in color, the Tricolor Crocus is simple to care for. Plant yours 4 inches apart in fall and wait for them to come alive in spring. While they do naturally increase over time, they don't need to be separated until the spacing impacts their performance. Like other Crocuses, these prefer full sun to partial shade and well-drained soils.

Provide moderate moisture and some bulb fertilizer when planting in the fall. When forcing bulbs indoors, or so they will bloom in the spring, these fall-planted bulbs need at least 6-8 weeks of Chill Hours to bloom. Trim the foliage back after it yellows in the late summer or fall after frost.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Any Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Clean Foliage After It Yellows
  • Deer Resistant
  • Low Maintenance Perennial Bulb
