Plant a hot spot in the garden with the Fire up your garden scene with brilliance and enduring hardiness! The bold PRAIRIE PILLARS™ orange Tiki Torch Coneflower (Echinacea x 'Tiki Torch') is a hybrid perennial that sets your garden ablaze with its hot color! Tiki Torch boasts large, pumpkin-orange flowers that are displayed on strong, well-branched stems.
Glowing orange ray petals surround a spikey, raised center that's a lovely reddish-brown. The long-lasting blooms attract butterflies and hummingbirds with their pollen and nectar-laden saucers! With a spicy scent, you'll enjoy these beauties throughout your landscape all summer until autumn!
Sturdy, tall stems make the Tiki Torch great for cut flower arrangements! Fill your gardens with burning embers indoors and out! Gleaming in full sun, Coneflowers are defiant in the heat, in poor soil, and difficult to grow spots! The coarse green foliage and great branched stems form an upright mound.
Not only is it a prized perennial for many gardeners but it is also said to be potent medicine. Echinacea purpurea is said to increase immune function, reduce the effects of colds and flu, fight off viral, bacterial and fungal infections, and purify the blood while flushing waste from the lymphatic system.
If you leave the Coneflower seed heads on the plant at the end of the season, they will provide winter interest and food for native songbirds. With a strong cold-tolerant root system, Coneflowers are hardy natives that are resistant to drought throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 9!
Planting and Application:
These vibrant orange Coneflowers can be used as accent plants or in mixed borders, open woodlands, and mass plantings! Try planting in masses for a bold color impact in your garden.
The long-lasting flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds and provide a vital nectar resource for a wide range of beneficial pollinators! The large, showy blossoms are the perfect landing pad for other beneficial pollinators who love the enchanting orange too!
Plus the novelty blooms are vibrant in cut flower arrangements! The strong stems provide intensely saturated color as a focal point and are tall enough to use as thrillers in your bouquets! Sized wonderfully for containers and are brilliant thrillers as potted plant additions.
Show off these large three-inch blooms in a prominent place in your garden as specimen and focal point plants. Any sunny site is a perfect location, adding glowing embers that will be sure to fire up the dreary landscape! Even Xeric Rock Gardens and Fire-wise landscaping are welcome locations for these hardy plants!
And when it's not in bloom, its lance-shaped foliage will keep your garden green and lively! Providing a great backdrop that sets off your other Perennial plantings and Mixed-shrub borders whether in bloom or not.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
For best results, plant your Perennial Coneflower in full sun in a well-drained area. Echinacea is known for its large flower heads that go to seed in the fall. Tiki Torch Echinacea is a full sun-loving plant and a hot sunny garden plot is fantastic for these long-lasting blooms! Not particular on soil type, any well-drained soil that's been enriched with compost and mulched is best.
This tough plant is drought tolerant once established but will perform its best with medium moisture soil that drains very well. Use a raised bed, or grow them in containers if you have poorly drained soil that retains water for a long time.
Divide clumps when they become overcrowded, about every 4 years. Tiki Torch reblooms without deadheading, but if spent flowers are removed, this will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improve general appearance.
If you leave some spent blooms on the plants in the fall, their seeds provide winter food for birds. You can enjoy the dried seed heads as well because they will provide architectural interest in the winter.
- Hardy Full Sun Perennial!
- Easy to Grow
- Needs Well-Drained Soil & Handles Poor, Xeric Sites
