Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Low growing and full of flavor, The Greek Oregano (Oregano vulgare 'TheGreek') is THE choice for your herb garden this year! Not just any oregano, The Greek is a fantastic spreading mat of aromatic bright green foliage, pink blossoms and many culinary uses in the kitchen and herb pantry!

Bright green textured leaves with adorable fuzzy surfaces fills your garden with dense clusters of aromatic foliage from spring until frost. Late summer brings a flush of pink blossoms that smother the plant and call pollinators and butterflies to your landscape!

The Greek Oregano is an herb garden staple and is ideal for container gardening as a filler and spiller, or creeping along garden edges as a border plant, or winding through beds at will, and it will ramble if you let it! Use the scented leaves as a groundcover that’s low maintenance and winter hardy!

Planting and Application:

Greek Oregano is as flavorful as it is beautiful! A traditional Greek herb, it’s also well used in Italian recipes as well! Season soups, salads and savory dishes, as a garnish for dishes and drinks! Even the blossoms are edible can be used to add color and flavor to your meals! When fall is approaching and threatening to kill these herbaceous perennials, simply snip off what you need and dry them!

Oregano is a double-duty spiller and filler in pots and planters! Tuck into mixed plantings and herb gardens, on porches and patios, even balconies and windowsill gardens. In fact, their rambling nature does best in a container so they can’t jump borders. Not aggressive by any means, they are just as happy in vegetable and herb beds, as edging in Perennial and Cottage borders, and are fantastic bee fodder in the Pollinator garden!

  • Low-Growing Aromatic Green Foliage
  • Pinkish Summer Blooms
  • Pots & Planters, Beds & Borders
  • Vital Resource for Bees, Butterflies & Other Pollinators
  • Culinary & Ornamental Uses

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Greek Oregano loves the full sun, becoming leggy in anything less. These herbaceous perennials can be brought indoors for the winter in cold climates, or used as annuals. Provide an extremely well-drained, enriched environment for best results.

  • Full Sun
  • Low to Moderate Moisture
  • Well-Drained Enriched Soil
  • Prune in Early Spring
  • Herbaceous Perennial in Zones 5-9
