Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Sweet and delicious, the extremely aromatic and flavorful Nufar-type Sweet Survivor Basil (Ocimum basilicum 'SweetSurvivor') fills out with huge glossy dark-green leaves and strong traditional Italian basil flavor and aroma for all your favorite recipes!

Summer brings tall green spikes that are filled with darling little white blossoms that bees and butterflies adore. Because you want lots of leaves and branching, it's recommended to pinch off these blossoms to encourage a full, bushy plant. However, the blossoms too are edible and have a zippy herbal flavor themselves! So toss them into your pesto or use them in salads or garnish!

Sweet Survivor is unique because of its extremely dense branching and pyramidal growing habit! Mature plants create a lovely upright vase of flavorful foliage that’s a delight to brush against in the garden! Make bruschetta or your own sauces that are divine with fresh, homegrown Basil!

Planting and Application:

Sweet Survivor adds incredible flavor to Italian and savory dishes! The gorgeous foliage looks lovely tossed fresh into leaf salads or as a garnish. Add huge flavor to savory dishes and sauces. The compact, upright size makes this Basil easily added to Kitchen, Vegetable and herb gardens, container gardens and mixed planters, or even a window box or indoor windowsill!

Ideal for any sunny spot in the garden to add rich greenery and white spires of blooms that the bees and butterflies go crazy for! Tuck one or two into your pollinator gardens so you and your bees both benefit from these tasty treats! Plus annual Basil is one of the easiest plants for a new gardener to catch the gardening bug with!

  • White Flowers
  • Broad Glossy Rich-Green Leaves
  • Amazingly Aromatic & Flavorful
  • Ornamental Herbaceous Annual
  • Beneficial for Pollinators

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Basil needs its flowers pinched back and to be harvested often to create a bushier plant and encourage plenty of branching. Leave a few for the bees, but these annuals are sought-after for their flavorful foliage. Provide sun and moist, well-drained fertile soil for best results.

  • Full Sun for Best Results
  • Moderately Consistently Moist Soil
  • Regular Fertilizer
  • Harvest Before Frost & Dry for Winter Use
  • Improved Mildew Resistance

Sweet Survivor Basil fills pantries with all the culinary goodness you can hope for! Get loads of flavor and an incredibly enticing aroma you love in a great upright form! Check out this and more exciting new herb plants available at NatureHills.com now!
