When we say low maintenance, we really mean that it leans more toward no maintenance! This Sedum (also known as Stonecrop) is a plant that is very happy to just show off in your landscape!

This pretty plant has dark blue-green leaves that border on dark turquoise! They are fleshy, like succulents, and have a smoky-gray overlay. Later on, as the season progresses, rose-pink flowers with hot pink carpels completely cover the plant almost hiding the striking foliage completely! Butterflies, pollinators, and bees will arrive to sip nectar!

Hardy perennials throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 9, Rock 'N Round® Stonecrop grows to about a foot tall, and spreads to about 2 feet wide! Superstar grows neatly domed and mounding and will be smothered in blooms!

This is a low-maintenance plant that is very content to just be! Popstar actually thrives in full sun and poor soil but can do well in pampered garden conditions too. During the first season, give it a medium amount of water on a regular basis. After the fleshy roots are well-established in your soil, you can ease off on the supplemental water. We always recommend that you protect your investment with water in a prolonged drought. But Sedum is a water-wise perennial, but do appreciate a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch around the root zone to keep more moisture consistency in the soil.

For a clean-looking appearance, remove the old foliage before new growth begins in the early spring. Once you plant it and get it well established, you'll never have to bother with it again, save for when you want to divide it to share with friends or to expand its territory in your own garden.
