Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Super Star Coreopsis (Coreopsis x 'Super Star') are going to be your new favorite rockstars in the garden! Also known as Tickseed, these are hardy sun-lovers with long-lasting sunny blooms that pollinators adore! Tough perennials too, you'll have little in the way to fuss with and be rewarded with loads of larger-than-usual blossoms!
These tidy mounding perennials form rounded bounds that become completely covered in summer yellow blossoms, each with burgundy eyes and buttery yellow petal ends with toothy edges. Forming atop a bright green mound of lovely foliage all growing season. Fantastic cut flowers and full of pollen and nectar for bees, these cheerful blossoms brighten any location indoors or out!
Super Star Coreopsis is very hardy in USDA growing zones 5 through 9 and will keep blooming all summer into autumn if you reliably deadhead spent blooms. Once you do allow the blossoms to go to seed in the autumn, you'll enjoy seeing songbirds arriving to eat them, including Chickadees and Finches!
Planting and Application:
These tough little plants are perfect xeric mass plantings and naturalized borders, pollinator beds and cut flower gardens! These lower-growing perennials are neat and tidy, and fill out entirely in big, bold blooms so they are fantastic edging plants! Brighten mixed borders and cottage gardens, sunny rock gardens and that hell-strip along a driveway or sidewalk.
These smaller plants are ideal for patio planters and mixed containers on front porches to welcome you home with cheerful blooms. Perfect for bird and wildlife-friendly gardens and even commercial plantings, these low-maintenance plants require very little and return so much to your landscape year after year.
- Bigger Yellow & Burgundy Blossoms
- Long-Lasting & Reblooming
- Great Pollinator, Bird-Friendly & Cut Flower
- Great in Containers & Tougher Locations
- Beds, Borders, En Masse & Edging
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Tickseed are full sun loving perennials that die back to the ground each winter. Prune in very early spring, just before you see new growth, trimming the mound back low to the ground. Once established, they need very little moisture and can be drought tolerant, but for best results and the most blooms, provide water during times of need. Appreciating mulch to survive the heat and drier times of the year, be sure to deadhead to keep new blooms popping!
- Full Sun
- Low to Average Moisture Needs
- Plant in Almost Any Well-Drained Soil
- Prune Early Spring & Deadhead After Blooms Fade
- Easy Care & Deer Resistant
Big, bold, bi-color blossoms for your pollinators and for the birds, the Super Star Coreopsis is a great version of the hardy native Tickseed that will brighten your landscape and vases all growing season long! Hurry and order yours today at NatureHills.com!
