#ProPlantTips for Care:
Calla Lily loves humidity is heat-hardy, and will grow in almost any type of soil as long as it is very well-drained and enriched with plenty of organic matter. Provide regular moisture throughout the growing season and add a layer of mulch/compost over the surface of the soil to retain soil moisture and insulate the rhizomes when planted outside year-round and in containers.
In zones 8-10 you can leave them in the ground over winter without any problems. Plant these rhizomes 4-6 inches apart and at least 12-18 inches away from other plants. Cover the rhizomes with 1-2 inches of soil and water in well. Calla Lilies are spread by underground bulb-like rhizomes and each year, you can dig up them and replant them in another location - spreading their cheerful yellow blooms throughout your entire landscape!
In other zones, dig up the rhizomes before the first frost, clean off excess soil, and let them dry in the sun for a few days before storing them in a dry location with temperatures between 50 and 60°F. In the spring, after the soil has warmed and all danger of frost has passed you can replant your Sunshine!
- Full Sun Perennial Rhizomes
- Well-Drained Organic Soil
- Regular Moisture Access - No Soggy Soil
- Trim Yellowed Foliage
- Can Be Dug In Fall Like Canna & Dahlia In Colder Climates
