Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Hot pink blooms and soft green foliage are what sets the Sunset Magenta Rock Rose (Cistus x pulverulentus 'Sunset') apart from the rest! A low-growing broadleaf evergreen that has pink blooms all summer long!

Sunset Magenta is very low-growing and wide-spreading once mature, reaching just 2-3 feet in height, but taking up a whopping 6-8 feet of width! Carpeting large swaths of hot, sunny, bare ground in beautiful soft green all year round! The pollinators will adore these vibrant pink blossoms as much as you will!

This maintenance-free Rock Rose is a hybrid between C. crispus and C. albidus, and brings the best of both varieties into one hardy plant! Sunset Magenta tolerates low moisture and sunny well-drained locations throughout USDA growing zones 8 through 11.

Planting and Application:

A wide-spreading flowering shrub like this, especially one that keeps its foliage all year, creates incredible living groundcover to fill bare ground fast! Ideal specimens for Rock Gardens, and for easy care mass plantings and commercial sites! Anywhere a brightly-hued flowering plant that handles hot dry conditions is a must! Slow erosion on hillsides and transform hard-to-mow slopes with ease!

A pretty plant like the Sunset Magenta Rock Rose is perfect for use as garden and landscape edging, planted 5-6 feet apart as a low hedge or facer plantings! Use as dividers, filling bare ground, or adding low color throughout mixed borders to add summer color and steady evergreen presence all year long.

  • Hot Pink Flowers & Bright Yellow Cores
  • Broadleaf Evergreen Shrubby Perennial Plant
  • Attracts Many Pollinators!
  • Wide-Spreading Yet Low-Growing Groundcover
  • Living Mulch, Erosion Control, Pretty Groundcover, En Masse & Slopes

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Naturally hardy, and highly adaptable to a wide range of well-drained soil with regular moisture access for young broadleaf evergreen shrubby perennials. Avoid poor soils that retain lots of water to avoid drowning your shrub, because these plants become quite drought-tolerant once established and need good drainage.

This perennial absolutely adores full sun for the most blooms. Rockrose may need the occasional pruning throughout its lifetime, but wait until flowering has finished before picking up the shears. Once early spring begins to warm up for the season, you should fertilize your Rockrose shrub for maximum potential. Rockrose is sure to benefit from some mulch as extra protection 3-4 inches thick.

  • Full Sun
  • Must Have Well-Draining Soil
  • Moderate to Low Moisture Once Established
  • Prune After Flowering Only
  • Tolerant of Salt, Droughts, Pests, Diseases & Heat

Cheerful and beautiful flowering Sunset Magenta Rock Rose is a hot and sunny-loving hot pink flowering shrubby evergreen perennial plant that will light up the harshest locations in your landscape beautifully! Order now at Nature Hills!
